Joyce Adams to Jerry Monroe
Barnes. Vows were repeated
before an altar banked with fern
and lighted tapers with the
Rev. Grady J. Haynes officiat
ing.
The bride Is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Adams of
Rt. 1, Norllna, and the bride
groom Is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Oscar G. Barnes, Jr.,
of Raleigh.
Given In marriage by her
?father, the bride wore a for
mal gown of silk organza over
taffeta which featured a scoop
neckline outlined with Alencon
lace motifs re-embroldered
with baby seed pearls and Ire
descent sequins. The gown also
had long sleeves which taper
ed Into points over the hands,
a princess line front with bell
sides and a shepherdess back
ending In a chapel sweep. Her
three-tiered veil of Imported
French Illusion fell from a
coronet of pearls and she car
ried a tear-shaped bouquet cen

Bridesmaids were attired in

quets.
Mr. Barnes Served his son as
best man. Ushers were Kirby
Miller of Charlotte, cousin of
the groom, Leon Mayo, Larry
Robertson and Gordon Barnes
of Raleigh, Bobby Maynard of
Henderson and Dickie Mllllnder
of Wilson.
Mrs. Adams chose for her
daughter's wedding a sheath of
white silk and rayon, trimmed

cessories and a white orchid
corsage. The mother of the
bridegroom was attired in a
dress of blue silk and wore
matching accessories and a
white orchid corsage. Mrs.

The bride is a graduate of
John Graham High School in
Warrenton and also attended
Automation Institute, Hard
bargers Business College in
Raleigh, she is employed by the
City of Raleigh as a tabulator
equipment operator. The bride
groom is attending Hard
barger's Business College and
is employed by Nationwide In

assistant file supervisor.
Following a wedding trip to
the Great Smoky mountains
the couple is now residing at
2311 Yancey St., Raleigh.

Preceding the wedding, a
luncheon was given at the home
of the bride by her parents for
the wedding party and guests.
The table was covered with a
white cloth and centered with
an arrangement of pink asters,
tuberoses and glads.
The menu consisted of ham,
fried chicken, potato salad,
pickles, lettuce and tomato, co
coanut and chocolate cake and
pecan pie.
After-Rehearsal Party
Immediately following the
Barnes-Adams wedding re
| hearsal on Saturday night the
parents of the bride entertained
at an after-rehearsal party In
[ their home. Approximately 35
guests enjoyed refreshments of
I party sandwiches, soft drinks,
| potato chips and pickles.

given for Miss Linda Adams,
bride-elect of August 30, in the
Baptist Church In Macon on

and Miss Nancy Wilson. Ap
proximately 15 guests were
