Warren Girl To Be Presented Degree Mrs. Richard Smith of At lanta, Ga. completed require ments for a degree In English at Georgia State College In At-, lanta, Ga. on December 3. The graduation exercises will be held In June. At present, Mrs. Smith Is a supply teacher. In January she will accept a position as Eng lish teacher with the Atlanta School System. Members The Warrenton Woman's Club entertained members of the North Carolina Federation of Women's Clubs In Warren County at a lovely Christmas tea held at the Warrenton Coun try Club on Saturday afternoon. The occasion of the tea was the 75th anniversary of Federated Women's Clubs and the club house was beautifully decorated In the holiday motif. Mrs. R. B. Butler, president, was at the head of the re ceiving line, with Mrs. J. W. Weathers, Jr., of Youngsvllle, presidenf of District 14, Mrs. W. H. Fleming of Youngsvllle, Mrs. Buck Thompson of Ma con, Mrs. G. O. Stultz, Mrs. Dwlght Scotten and Mrs. L. O. Robertson, Jr., all of Nor llna. Mrs. T. P. Whitley, chair man of hostesses, Mrs. C. R. Miss Patricia Ann Sadler was named first runner - up in the Miss Pem broke State College Pageant, Saturday night, December 4, at the annual homecoming basket ball game. Patricia was chosen as one of five finalists Tuesday night, No vember 30, on the basis ol beauty, personality, poise, and speech. Her speech was entitled "Know Thyself." She was presented with a bouquet of American Beauty red roses and an engraved trophy. A twenty-one year old junior, Patricia is majoring in Elemen tary Education. Her hobbies are archeology and conchology. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Sadler of Rt. 1, Macon, and a 1963 graduate of Littleton High School. Wise-Paschall Club Has Christmas The Wlse-Paschall 4-h Club held Its regular December meeting and Christmas pro gram Tuesday night with 28 members present, Jackie Walk er, reporter, announced yes terday. During the business session plans were made for a party to be given In honor of the parents on Saturday night. This will consist of a turkey supper. The members were compli mented on their success In sell ing first aid kits as a fund rais ing project. The members sold 91 of the 100 kits supplied. Following the business pro gram, games were played, re freshments were served and gifts were exchanged. ERNEST AND MARY NEWELL Auxiliary Women Aid At Hospital Five members of Unit #25 of the American Legion Auxi liary and one volunteer spent Wednesday at the Veterans Hos pital in Durham, the occasion being the opening of the Gift Shop of the Auxiliary in the hos pital. Mesdames C. M. Bullock, D. F. Blaylock, Leonard Daniel, W. L. Fuller, Scott Gardner and William Bugg visited the as signed wards, made lists of the wanted gifts for the patients' families, selected gifts for the large array In the Gift Shop, wrapped and labelled all gifts for mailing. This year the local auxiliary contributed 121 gifts at a cost of $193.43 to the veterans gift shop program. These gifts were for children as well as adults with some luxury as well as practical items included. Every veteran is entitled to select Christmas gifts for his family at home at no cost what soever to himself, the entire op eration being financed each ypar hy the American Le Rector Announces Christmas Services Episcopal services during the Yuletide season were announced by the Rev. James M. Stoney, Jr., rector of All Saints, the Church of the Good Shepherd and Emmanuel Church, this week as follows: A Christmas Eve service will be held at All Saints Church at 9 p. m. Girl Scouts Give Tree To Hospital Troop 725 held Its last meet ing of 1965 with a Christmas party at the Methodist Church Tuesday. The girls decorated a Christmas tree which was taken to the lobby of Warren General Hospital. Gifts were exchanged by the girls. Christmas carols were sung. Santa Claus (the Rev. Al Thompson) came to distribute gifts. Refreshments, consisting of Cokes, glngerale, chips, cookies and candy, made by the scouts were served.
