Have A Heart
Sunday Is Heart Sunday and on
that day scores of volunteers
in Warrenton will make a house
to house canvass to reduce the
ravishes of this leading killer.
When they appear at your door
on Sunday make their task easier
by meeting them with a friendly
smile and a generous donation for
a most worthy cause. After all
their's is the harder part, for col
lecting money, even for a good cause,
is no easy task. It is time consum
ing and asking for money is not
most of us the task will be easier.
We only have to make a contri
bution as our part in the fight to
improve the health of our nation.
Diseases of the heart and the
blood vessels are the leading caus
es of death in this country today.
That the toll is not higher is due
to research and medical skills de
veloped as a result of money given
during these annual Heart Fund
Drives. The progress already made
is astounding, but there Is a long
ways yet to go. perhaps the dis
ease will never be completely wi?ed
out, but it will be reduced. Thou
sands who might be dead are today
living a useful life because of your
donations. The research goes on,
new discoveries are being made,
medical skills are being improved.
The skills of our physicians and
surgeons have done much to cure
find the cause of heart disease and
to prevent its occurrence. This re
quires continued research, and re
search on the massive scale need
ed requires tremendous amounts of
money. Remember this as you make
your contributions Sunday and add
a little bit to your contributions.
Have a heart; give generously to
the Heart Fund drive Sunday.
