The December meeting was in the nature of a social gathering with the husbands of the members as guests and was held at Colonial Lodge where a delicious meal was served buffet style. The Christmas Story, from Luke 2: 1-20, was read by Mrs. Clinton Capps. After dinner a crowd of 40 retired to the Country Club for dancing and light refresh ments. Mrs. Fleming Feted At Kitchen Shower Mrs. Lacey Fleming, a December bride, was honored at a kitchen shower on Mon day night in the home of Mrs. Carolyn Buchanon on Spring Valley Road, Henderson. A yellow and white motif was carried out in decorations of spring flowers. Mrs. Fleming, the former Miss Bonnie Gupton of Areola, was presented a corsage and a gift of corning ware by the hostess, and kitchen utensils by the guests. Games and contests were enjoyed by the group of 25. Cake squares, punch, cheese straws and nuts were served by Mrs. Ray Buchanon of Hen derson, mother of the hostess, and Mrs. Jack Ashcraft and Mrs. Charles Basket, Jr. SILVER ANNIVERSARY Miss Louise Grissom, Mr. and Mrs. W. RICHARD HORACE FREEMAN M iss Hunt Becomes bride Of Mr. Freeman HAMPTON, VA.- The Me morial Baptist Church in Hampton, Va., was the scene of the marriage of Miss Cathryne Townes Hunt, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Henderson Hunt of Hampton, and Richard Horace Freeman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph H. Freeman, also of Hampton, on Saturday afternoon, Jan uary 28 at two o'clock. The Rev. Edward E. Ruthledge, pastor of the church officated at the double ring ceremony. The altar was decorated with palms, baskets of white mums and candlebras with white lighted tapers. A program of nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Thomas N. Barton, soloist and Mrs. E. E. Ruthledge, or ganist. The "Wedding Pray er", "Because" and "The Lord's Prayer" were the vo cal selections used. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a traditional wedding gown styled with a basque bodice of Alencon lace reembroidered in seed pearls, portrait neck line and long sleeves ending in Calla points. The bouffant lace applique skirt was bound In deep lace scallops and drap ed in front over a lace un derskirt. A Walteau train completed the back of the gown. Her only ornament was a cultured pearl, a gift of the bridegroom. She carried a lace covered Bible centered with orchids showered with Lily-of-the-Valley and satin bridal streamers. Mrs. J. A. Caldwell, in, was matron of honor. She wore a floor length gown designed with an Empire bodice of moss green Venice lace, oval neck line and wedding bell sleeves. A band of satin was bound about the waist line above the Alabaster sheath crepe skirt with a Watteau panel arranged In back. The headpiece was of matching green velvet rose cluster with Illusion. She car ried a cascade of bronze mums. Bridesmaids were Miss Nelda Clark of Littleton, North Carolina, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Robert Helterbranof Denbigh. They wore dresses and headpieces identical to that of the matron of honor and carried cascades of yellow mums. Little Miss Leslie Hope Caldwell was flowergirl. Her dress was fashioned similar to those of honor attendants. She carried a white, lace-covered basket of rose petals. Mistresses of cermonies were Mrs. G. M. Freeman, Sr. and Mrs. E. K. Davenport. The best man was Mr. Ran dolph H. Freeman, father of the bridegroom. Ushers were William Randolph Freeman, brother of the bridegroom, Ronald Hamilton and Darrell A. Wood of Hampton and Ro bert Helterbran of Denbigh. The bride's mother chose for her daughter's wedding, a gold and Alabaster brocade ensemble with gold acces sories and corsage of green cymbldium orchids. Mrs. Freeman, mother of the bride groom, wore a dress ol beige lace with matching acces sories and corsage of green Cybidium orchids. Grandmothers of the couple attending were Mrs. Jack Clark of Littleton, N. C. , Mrs. K. H. Fox of Newport News, Va. and Mrs. J. G. Freeman of Hampton, Va.
