Hecht has re turned home after spending ten days in Huntsvllle, Ala. While there she attended the con firmation service of her grandson, Johnny Hecht, at the Ascension Lutheran Church. Johnny is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hecht. Jimmy Hecht of N. C. State University has returned home to spend the summer with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Erich E. Hecht. Birthday Party Master Nash Whitmore and Doris Bender were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Holtzman on Saturday night In honot of their daughter, Betty Jean's fourth birthday. A beautiful decorated cake with four candles centered the table. WMS Meets t ., The Woman's Missionary Society of St. Paul's Lutheran Church met Thursday night at the Parish Hall with Mrs. O. A. Brauer and Mrs. Herman Seaman as co-hostesses. Mrs. William Bender, president, presided. The hall was decorated with beautiful roses and snapdragons. The Rev. M. E. Franke opened the meeting with scrip ture and prayer and led in topic discussion on "The Cost of Training Foreign Mis sionaries and Other Expenses of Foreign Missions." Mrs, Minnie Chandler joined the society as a new member. The hostesses served strawberry shortcake, topped with cream, and coffee. Honor Son Mr. and Mrs. Peter P. Sea man honored their son, Charles Arthur, on Sunday at a bountiful dinner in honor of his confirmation. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Adam Seaman, Mr. Calvin Seaman , Mrs. Annie Killan, Mr. Leonard J. Killan and son, John, Miss Joyce Seaman of East Carolina College, Green ville, and Raymond and Ruby Seaman.
