Trio To Give Concert In County Sunday A concert trio featuring Miss Evangeline Grant, Gary Grant and George Jones will be fea tured at the Macon Second Bap tist Church on Sunday, March 8, at 5 p. m., the Rev. Jere miah Webb, minister of the church, announced yesterday. The trio are graduates of Brawley High School at Scotland Neck. Miss Grant has continued her education and is majoring in Sociology at ?orth Carolina Central University, Durham. Grant, who is the concert nar rator, studied Dramatics at North Carolina Central Uni versity, and was the first Black actor to play at the Utah Shakespearean Festival at Cedar City, Utah. Jones who is organist for the group, studied music at St. Phillips College School of Music in San An tonio, Texas. This trio was formed, Mr. Webb said, mainly because of their burning desire to regener ate this historically creative expression of Black Americans, and to reveal more of the latent beauty and great significance attached to this form of deep worshipful art which exalts the hearts of millions. The Spirit uals, America's heritage from Black Americans, Mr. Webb added, seem to some degree to be a neglected field of art. Mr. Webb said the public is cordially invited to come, share, appraise and enjny thpsp young artists.
