Traffic Volations, Assault Charges Aired In District Court
Traffic violations and
assault charges were among
cases tried before Judge
Ben U. Allen of Henderson
during Friday's mixed session
of Warren County
District Court. Only six of
the 29 scheduled cases were
continued. Cases disposed of
were as follows:
Phillip Scott Bobbitt,
failure to stop at red light,
court cost.
Harvey Boyd, exceeding
safe speed, called and
failed. Ordered arrested for
appearance on June 24 with
bond set at $10Q.
Robert J. Brown, speeding
66 in 55 mph zone,
driving under influence and
no operator's license, called
and failed. Ordered arrested
for appearance on June 24
with previous bond forfeited
and bond set at $500.
Albert Bullock, driving
while license revoked, and
improper equipments,
lights, ordered to jail for six
months and one day in jail to
be assigned to work under
the supervision of the N. C.
Department of Correction.
Raymond Carter, assault
on female, ordered to jail for
two years, suspended for
five years and placed on
probation for five years
under usual conditions of
probation with special conditions
that he not assault or
molest Pattie Robinson for
five years and pay cost of
court.
Percell Downey, assault,
ordered to jail for seven
days and given credit for
seven days served awaiting
trial.
Weldon H. Evans, trespass,
ordered to jail for two
days.
Daniel DouBaer Feinberg,
speeding 80 in 55 mph
zone, found guilty of speeding
70 in 55 mph zone, fined
Young Democracts
Gather Saturday
GREENSBORO- Young
Democrats from across
North Carolina met here
Saturday (June 11) to
establish their plans and
programs for the upcoming
year.
Attending the meeting
from Warren County representing
the local Young
Democrats was Floyd B.
McKissick, Jr., president of
the Young Democrats of N.
C., Warren County Chapter
and his wife, Cynthia.
The Young Democrats
met to consider a state plan
of activities being offered by
the new president, M. C.
Teague of Raleigh.
The state plan sets new
goals for the Young Democrats
for establishing new
clubs, increasing membership,
raising funds for the
1978 Senatorial campaign
and for fostering greater
involvemnt in political affairs.
McKissick has been
appointed to the state
budget committee and the
committee on minority
participation.
The Young Democrats is
an organization of young
people aged 35 and under
who are interested in
learning about and becoming
more involved in
politics. The Young Democrats
annually adopt a
platform and lobby for key
issues in the N. C. General
Assembly. There are about
70 clubs in counties and
colleges in North Carolina.
Currently 80 persons have
signed up for memberships
In Warren County and the
Warren County Club is one
of the most active and
fastest growing clubs in
North Carolina.
Warren Church Has
Steak Supper Plans
The Warrenton Pentecostal
Holiness Church is having
a steak supper on June 18
from S until 8 p. m. at $5 per
plate. This will be a full
meal to take out or you may
dine on the premises. The
proceeds from this dinner
will be used to help send the
pastor and his wife to the
church's general conference
in Oklahoma City this

Virginia Sparrow Hires,
speeding 67 in 55 mph zone,
prayer for judgment continued
upon payment of court
costs.
Roy Jones, public drunkenness,
ordered to jail for
two days.
Alvin Henry Kimball,
failure to stop at red light,
court cost.
Herbert Laquins, speeding
92 in SS mph zone, found
guilty of careless and
reckless driving, fined $50
and court costs.
Gracie Lashley, assault
with deadly weapon, order
ed to jail for six months and
one day, suspended for two
years on the condition that
she not bother or go near the
prosecuting witness. Remit
cost.
Esther Parks Stutson,
improper inspection sticker,
improper registration, vol
untary dismissal.
Oscar Williams, jr., reckless
driving, not guilty.
Shirley D. Hayden vs.
Sandy Jarrell, court found
that the defendant guilty of
failure to comply with a
court order to pay $10 every
week for use of minor
children. He was ordered to
jail for 30 days and assigned
to do work in and around the
public buildings of Warren
County or the Town of
Warrenton.
Robert Louis Evans, failure
to see safe movement,
court cost.
