Silk venice lace motifs out lined the neckline, lavish ly adorned the bodice and encircled the waist and cuffs of the sleeves. The full length organza skirt extended into a chapel train. Garlands of silk venice lace bordered the hemline of the gown. The bride chose for her head piece a waltz length man tilla of bridal illusion bordered with garlands of silk venice lace and accented with lace motifs flowing from a lace caplet. Her only orna ment was an opal necklace and earrings, a gift of the groom. Mrs. Cathy B. Dillard of Henderson, who was a college roommate of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Williams of Roanoke Rapids, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Jackie H. Crute of Hen derson. León S. Williams of Warrenton, brother of the groom, served as best man.
