Set For
Moms, Tots
The Adolescent Health
Care Program at HealthCo
is sponsoring a Moms and
Tots session at the HealthCo
Annex on March 28 at 2
p. m The session is being
offered to teenage mothers
to provide them with
information and to let
them ask questions about
health care issues for their
children.
Topics which will be
discussed include: how to
recognize when your baby
is not well and what to do,
reading a thermometer
and the best ways to take
your child's temperature,
good tips for meeting the
nutritional needs of your
youngster and dental
health information including
how to cope with
teething problems. The
session is free and free
snacks tor Doth moms ana
their youngsters will be
provided.
Mothers should feel free
to bring their children if
they do not have a babysitter
or if they just want to
bring them along. The
adolescent health staff will
have someone available to
entertain the children
while the session is taking
place.
The adolescent health
program plans to offer this
program several times in
the future. For each
session there will be a limit
of 12 adolescent mothers
allowed to participate.

Eastern Star
Order Gathers
The Administrative
Council of District No. 7,
Order of Eastern Star
(PHA) of North Carolina
met at the Saint John's
Baptist Church of Red Oak
on March 7. Gaylor
Chapter No 654 was the
host.
Sister Annie Mullen,
DWM, presided. Sisters
Lucille Hunt, Helen Pinkney,
Mary D. Williams and
Vera Williams represented
Rose of Sharon Chapter
No. 542 of Warren County.
After the ritualistic
opening ceremony Grand
District Deputy Ruth
Brewer and District Patron
Robert Moore conferred
the administrative
degree on new candidates.
Deputy Brewer then addressed
the group, reviewing
her duties and responsibilities
as grand district
deputy. She also reiterated
the duties and responsibilities
of local chapters to
each other, to the district
and to the state. Her
appreciation for past support
was expressed as she
also requested future support
of each chapter.
A delicious lunch was
served by the host chapter.
The Rev. Donald Wess,
pastor of St. Mark's AME
Church of Rocky Mount,
was speaker.
The meeting was closed
with the ritualistic closing.
District Seven is composed
of chapters from
Halifax, Northampton,
Hertford, Nash, Edgecomb
and Warren counties.
Ends Training
Marine Pvt. Floyd Bullock,
Jr., son of Floyd and
Laura Bullock of Rt. 1,
Nor Una has completed the
infantry combat training
course at Marine Corps
Base, Camp Pendleton,
Calif.
During the six-week
course, he received classroom
instruction and participated
in field exercises
involving infantry tactics;
the construction and
camouflage of fighting
positions; and the use of
mines, demolitions, and
intro-company communications
equipment. His
specialized training centered
on the duties of a
rifleman, with emphasis
on squad tactics and the
techniques of fire of the
squad's weapons.
He joined the Marine
Corps in August I960.
