Deaths, Funerals FRED L. SCHUSTER Funeral services for Fred Lee Schuster, 61, of the Oine Community of Warren County, will be conducted today (Wednes day) at 2 p. m. from Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Gordon Allen Burial will be in the Schuster family cemetery at Oine. Mr. Schuster, a retired employee of the Depart ment of Transportation, died at his home in the Oine community on Mon day morning, following a period of declining health. He was the son of the late Fritz and Lottie Walker Schuster He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Joyce Pulley Schuster; two daughters Mrs. Margaret C. Walker and Miss Angela Faye Schuster, both of Norlina; one brother, John Schuster of Henderson, two sisttis, Mrs. Lillian Edwards and Mrs Sudie Collins, both of Norlina. Pallbearers will be Glen wood Rose, George Harris, John Boyd Fleming,L. A Hawks, Walter Carter and Zeb St.Sing. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Department of Transpor tation. LILLIAN E. BENDER Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Emma Ben der, 62, of Rt. 2, Norlina, were conducted at 2 p. m Saturday from St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Ridge way by the pastor, the Rev Donald Jarboe Burial was in the church cemetery Mrs. Bender died on Thursday night in Warren General Hospital following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Barbara Sea man Bender. Mrs. Bender is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Janette Schuster of Nor lina; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Hanselman of Man son, Mrs. Anna Gray of Beulahville and Mrs. Janet Wolf of El Paso, Texas; and two grandchildren. ROBERT C. NONEMAN EDENTON — Graveside services for Robert Charles "Bob" Noneman, 12, who died on Tueday, Jan. 5, were conducted at 11 a. m. Friday in Beaver Hill Cemetery. The grandson of Mrs. Martha Pope Draffin of Norlina, the youth is survived by his parents, Walter Lewis Noneman and Mrs. Faye Draffin Noneman, both of Eden ton; a brother, Mark Lewis Noneman of Edenton; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Louise W. Noneman of Raleigh. MARY CROSSIN Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Frances Cros sin were held at 3 p. m. Sunday at Ridgeway Bap tist Church by the Rev. W. T. Ramey. Burial was in the church cemetery. The daughter of Albert and Nora Davis Alston, Mrs. Cross in was born on February 24,1929. She died January 4 in Norlina. She was married to the late John Henry Crossin. Surviving are six daugh ters, Yvonne Downey, Bernice, Kay and Linda Crossin of Norlina, Janet Crossin of Louisburg and Carol Crossin of Elizabeth City; one son, Robert Crossin of Norlina; one sister, Rosa Bonds of Washington, D. C.; one brother, William H. Alston of Durham; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert E. Johnson, Leonard Jones, John Jenkins, Rich ard Alexander, George Bullock and James Nor man Jenkins. TILLA CHEEK Funeral services for Mrs. Tilla Kearney Cheek were held Saturday at 2 p. m at Coley Springs Baptist Church by the Rev G. A. Gilchrist, assisted by the Rev. L. G. Brown. Burial was in the church Mr*. Cheek, daughter of the late Willie A. and 1 Bettie Green Kearney, was born August 28, 1891. She died January 6 in Halifax Memorial Hospital in Roa noke Rapids. She was married to the late Clifton Cheek She is survived by one daughter, Mrs Virginia Cheek Davis of the home in Weldon; one son, Clifton Cheek, Jr., of Philadel phia, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Mae Christmas of Warrenton and Mrs. Ruth K Gratt of Detroit. Mich.; one brother, Wi liam Kearney of Warier, ton; six grandchildren 13 great-grandchild n FRANKLIN JliiGeJTTS Funeral services for Franklin D. Roosevelt Jiggetts w ere held at 2 p. m. Sunday at Roanoke Baptist Church in Palmer Springs, Va. by the Rev James Hargrove. Burial was in the church ceme tery Mr Jiggetts, a resident of Macon, was born June 30,1952 in Palmer Springs He died on January 4 Surviving are his wife, Mrs Arlene Jiggetts of New York; one son, Franklin D. R Milam of Macon; his parents, Mr and Mrs Kenneth Jiggetts of Macon; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Lee Hargrove, Mrs Priscilla Hargrove and Mrs. Rosa Alston, all of Macon; four brothers, Ernest Jiggetts of Brook lyn, N. Y., John T Jiggetts of Warrenton; Eddie Sam Jiggetts and Jacob Wal lace Jiggetts of Macon; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Haskins of Clarksville, Va Pallbearers were Victor Meadows, Frank Mayo, Charles Burton, James Lee Burton, Charles Ed ward Hargrove and Wil liam Jiggetts. FRANCESCARR Mrs. Francis A. Carr, 67, of the Afton Community died Friday at Maria Parham Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 p m. at Young Memorial Holiness Church. Elder Tyler Young will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Carr of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Catherine Anderson and Mrs. Bertha Mason, both of New York City, Mrs. Helen Kitchen and Mrs. Lillie Johnson, both of Bronx, N. Y., and Mrs. Lula Fuller of Henderson; three sons, Joseph Alston of Richmond, Va., John Alston of New York City, and McKinley Alston of Henderson; one brother, Sam Watson of Warren ton; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Rod well, Mrs. Lillie Williams, Mrs. Pearl Brown and Mrs. Maria Davis, all of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Lula Kearney of Warrenton, 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. MITCHELL HENDERSON - Funer al services for Mrs. Beulah Jiggetts Mitchell, 66, of 127 Miriam Street, will be conducted today (Wednes day) at 3 p. m. from Mitchell Baptist Church in Franklin County by the Rev. NeDempsey Moore. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Mitchell died Fri day at Maria Parham Hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks, following a period of declining health. She was born March 8,1912, the daughter of the late Henry and Cora Jiggetts. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Mitchell o* the home; three daugh ters, Mrs. Dorothy Foster of Henderson, Miss Evelyn Mitchell of the home and Mrs. Betsy Mason of Newark, N. J.; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Bell German of Norlina and Mrs. Mar garet Williams of Hender son; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Yoang The median age of women workers is 34 years.
