Littleton News Items Jimmy Dean Felts and John Wayne Felts of Roanoke Rapids were Sun day visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Felts and sister, Betty Felts. Danny Long spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Long in F^ntnn Mr. and Mrs. Willie Sykes were Wednesday visitors of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Peoples in Warrenton area. Peoples is on the sick list. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Riggan visited Mrs. Don ald Pitchford in Embro area Tuesday. Mrs. Pitch ford is now home after having been a patient in Warren General Hospital for several days. Mrs. Sam N. Brown still remains in Halifax Mem orial Hospital at the time of printing. Miss Debbie Lanier and Mrs. Sandy Lanier Mercer of Morehead City were Wednesday visitors of their grandmother, Mrs. Helen Kooper, and aunt, Mrs. Mildred Oxenham. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy King and children, Kim berly and Dana, recently visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. H. King in Wallace. Mrs. wiiDur u. Sheann of Warrenton was a Saturday visitor of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Gladys Stansbury, on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Wilner Heauy of Ayden visited Mrs. Stans bury. Robert Riggan is a patient in Halifax Memor ial Hospital. Among his visitors during the week end were his sister, Mrs. Mario Rossell, and broth er, Harry Riggan of Henderson, the Rev. Rich ard Astle, Miss Alice New so m, Mrs. Robert Riggan, Mr. and Mrs. John Bill Stansbury, and Conzell Little. Mrs. Freddie Paynter and children, James Allen and Kevin, of Wise and Mrs. John King, Jr. and son, Donavan, of Norlina were Sunday visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Clarence West. Miss Anne West of Raleigh spent the weekend in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Gray West. miss Mary i»is west ot Charlotte was home with her mother, Mrs. Robert West and also visited her father, Robert West, in Edgecomb General Hos pital in Tarboro during the weekend. Mrs. Willie Herbert of Enfield and house guest, Miss Fannie Moore, visited Macon Moore during last week in Duke Hospital. Clifton Shearin is a surgery patient in Halifax Memorial Hospital in Roa noke Rapids. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Brizendine of Kins Wil liam, Va. and Mr. and Mrs. Trvin Holsapple of Cheraw, S. C. were weekend visitors of their children, Dr. and Mrs. Robert C. Brizendine, and grand daughter, Christina. They attended worship services in Littleton Baptist Church Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Wilner Heuay of Ayden were Sunday visitors of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stainback, Mrs. Eva H. Harris and Mrs. Mary H. Miss Linda Crawley of Aurelian Springs area was a Saturday night guest ot Mrs. Tommy F. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Chesley Stokes of Smithfield were Wednesday visitors of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart West. Mrs. West and Mrs. Stokes visited their mother, Mrs. Viola Etheridge, in Guard ian Care Nursing Center in Louisburg and she accom panied them here for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Mohorn of Hampton, Va. were Friday visitors of Mrs. Tommy Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Delbridge were Sunday visitors of her brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Raynolds Perkinson, of Norlina and Mr. and Mrs. James Perkinson and Mr. and Mrs. Luther Perkinson of Warrenton area. Luther Perkin son has recently been a patient in Duke Hospital, but is now home. Mr. and Mrs. William Liles of Corinth Commun ity were Sunday dinner guests of Misses Mamie and Josephine Stansbury. Mrs. Be mice Aycock, Sr. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jack C rite her in Chesapeake, Va. and Mr. and Mrs. Be mice Aycock, Jr., and children, Tami and Tonya spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Baine in Portsmouth, Va. Mrs. L. E. Morris spent the weekend with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Critcher, in Roanoke Rapids. Mrs. Norman Best is a patient in Halifax Memor ial Hospital. Her daughter. House in Pines Rest Homes in Louisburg. Wayne McWayne of Charlotte visited in the home of Mrs. Robert West during the weekend. Pike and children, Cynthia and Billy visited their son and daughter-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Pike Friday evening and attended the celebration of the second birthday of their granddaughter, Peggy Mae Pike, near Roanoke Rapids. The group sang "Happy Birth day" to her. Gifts were opened. Ice cream, cake and Pepsis were served to Mr. and Mrs. Pike, Cynthia and Billy Pike, Maybell Carter, Vernon Carter and Faye Carter. Child Is Honored On Her Birthday Dr. and Mrs. Robert C. Brizendine entertained their daughter, Christina, Sunday at their home in Littleton in honor of her second birthday. The honoree opened her gifts and cairds and "Happy Birthday" was sung. A decorated Muppets cake designed by Ernie Bert centered the table. The cake was topped with two lighted birthday can dles. Ice cream, cake, Pepsis, ginger ale and coffee were served to Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Holsapple of Cheraw, S. Clarence R. Breeden, Jr. of Mosby Avenue in Littleton. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Peggy King of Roanoke Rapids and Gree ly W Richardson of Trip let, Va. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Willie Gray West of Little ton. Following a wedding trip, the couple will reside at the home of the groom's parents. Among those attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Willie Gray West little Misty Dawn West, Mike West. Mrs. Fred West and Mrs. Justis West entertain ed the wedding party at a breakfast in the home of Mr and Mrs. Willie Gray West. lite vvarrt'd nccoru, udntiiiun, ixwuiuuuuiw, Funds Are Raised A total of $11,034 has been allotted to Warren County by the State's Division of Youth Services for establishment or con tinuation of delinquency prevention programs dur ing the 1982-83 fiscal year The funds are being supplied to Warren County as a result of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974. The announcement con cerning the grant was made by Archie Snipes, chairperson of the Warren County Task Force on the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency, at its month ly meeting on March 15. According to Snipes, the funds are available to Warren County agencies that wish to begin new programs, or continue programs that are present ly operating. Agencies wishing to apply for a portion of the funds should contact Mary Hunter for an application (Warren County Schools, Box 110, Warrenton, N. C. 27589, 257-3184). Proposals must be submitted to Mr. Snipes by April 16.
