Mr and Mrs. Donald S. Wimbrow have returned from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. John E. Macon and family in Kalamazoo, Mich. Mr and Mrs. Kenneth Davis spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Boy kin of Virginia Beach, Va. Mrs. Robert Dame of Richmond, Va., visitod Mr. and Mrs Harry Walker on Monday. She travelled to Durham on Tuesday to visit Mrs. F. M. Egerton who is a patient at Duke Hospital. Miss Terry Wilkinson and Mrs. Debra Wilkinson of Union Level, Va. visited Mr. and Mrs. Ron Baker on Tuesday. Visitors of Mrs. Myrtle Fleming on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Gettings of Chester, Va., Mrs. Elna Stansbury of Richmond, Va., Mrs. Mildred Morrison of Prince George, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Earl Haddock of Cary, Mrs. Erma Neathery and son, Ray, and Milton Grissom and son, all of Henderson. Mrs. Margaret Mayfield j returned home Friday following an extended visit $ with Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Harrington in China ^ Grove. £ Mrs. Bruce Scotten and £ Dwight Scotten of Richly mond, Va., spent the S weekend with friends in Norlina. Mattie Pridgen Circle Gathers Some eight members of the Mattie Pridgen Circle of the Norlina Baptist Church met in the home of Mrs H. H Foster on Monday morning. The chairman, Mrs Eleanor Hayes, opened the meeting with prayer. Several items of business were discussed. Mrs. Jeanette Shearin gave an interesting program about budgeting home missions. Silent prayer was offered by the members for world-wide support of the home missions work. Mrs. Foster closed the meeting with a prayer. A social hour was enjoyed by all the members. Mrs. Foster invited the members into the dining area where she served ice cream floats and cookies. The April meeting will be in the home of Mrs. Maggie Adcock. Circle Has Meet In Setzer Home Mrs. Forest Setzer of Wise entertained the Norlina Baptist's Annie Armstrong Missionary Circle on Monday evening. Mrs. Mamie Weaver opened the meeting with prayer and Mrs. Setzer gave the devotion. The sick and cheer were remembered. Mrs. Ann Mulchi gave an interesting program on home and foreign missions with Mrs. Dot Bobbitt, Mrs. Pattie Brauer and Mrs. Nell Mulchi taking parts in the program. The meeting was adjourned with prayer. For the social hour the hostess invited 11 members into the dining area for punch, cake, nuts and pickles. Mrs. Pattie Brauer will entertain the circle in April. Oiga Hood Circle Meets J* M*rch 29 the Olga Hood Missionary Circle met in Jean Frazier s home with Alta Brantley as co-hostess. Some 12 members were present Delaine Perkmson opened the meeting with devotions and prayer. Old business included the successful study course entitled, "Challenge of the Cities conducted by Steve Gandy and Bob Willard The members were reminded and challenged to give for the Annie 4rin. strong Easter Oflcring t0 meet the church goal of $900. S 01 New business ite'ns irciuded the WMU Annual Session on April 6 at Second Baptist Church in Henderson entitled The World Is Here" at 7 p. m The speaker will be the Mrs. Fuller Has Circle Meeting The Lola Sue Mission Action Group met on Monday morning in the home of Mrs. Nita Fuller for the March meeting. Mrs. Sadie Mustian director, opened the meeting with scripture followed with prayer. There were seven members present. During the business session entries were made on the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering to reach a goal of $900. Miss Bertha Bishop gave a good report on persons remembered who were sick and shut-in. The program was presented by Mrs. Emily Bobbitt, program chairman. The topic was "She Is A Baptist Woman." The birthdays of missionaries on the calendar of prayer for Monday were read and a prayer followed. During the social hornMrs. Fuller served pie, mints, nuts, coffee and iced tea to those present. Rev. Tony Brewington. There will be a children's Bible drill Friday, April 23 at North Henderson Baptist Church. There are five candidates for the drill from Norlina. The meeting was closed with prayer and the missionary calendar. The members adjourned to the dining room where they were served refreshments. The April meeting will be with Harriett Faulkner. Bass Tourney Held The Warren County Bass Tournament was held March 27 on Kerr I^ake. Carl Lynch won first place and Larry Collier won second place. A supper was held after the tournament at the home of Jesse and Doris Brannon. The Brannons were hosts along with Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Booker. The next tournament will be held on Lake Gaston on April 24. Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. Harris of Norlina announce the engagement of their daughter, Betsy Irene, to William Eddie Vick of Henderson, son of Mrs. Callie R. Vick of Henderson and the late Jesse R. Vick. The couple is planning a May 22 wedding at 2 o'clock at Carey Baptist Church. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. Birth Is Announced Paul and Susan Gill of South Hill, Va., announce the birth of a son. Jason Paul,on February 26 at Maria Parham Hospital. The infant weighed 8 lbs. 12 ozs. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward N. Paschall of Palmer Springs, Va. Maternal great-grandmothers are Mrs L. D Paschall of Palmer Springs and Mrs. B. C. Edwards, Sr. of Henderson. Paternal grandparents are Mrs. K A. Gill, Sr. of Union Level. Va and the late Mr Gill. Drewry Women Meet The United Methodist Women of Drewry Church met in the home of Mrs A. E. Lilesor Thursday night President Mollie Paschall called the meeting to order with a poem about Easter. Jean Weston gave a reading on the Easter message Louise Ranes gave a devotion and program on Easter. Plans were made to feed the Middleburg Ruritan Club on April 1 It will also be Ladies Night. Ten members and one visitor were present. The next meeting will be with Louise Ranes The group adjourned with the singing of "Blest Be The Tie."
