Judge Long Presides Over Session Of District Court Judge Nickolas Long presided over the April 14 session of Warren County District Court, disposing of the following cases: Charles Williams, failure to comply, voluntary dismissal with leave. Victor Bullock, driving while license revoked and allowing unlicensed person to operate motor vehicle, called and failed, judgment absolute on bond, voluntary dismissal with leave. Clarence Harrington, assault on a female, voluntary dismissal Farish Carter Chandler. Jr., speeding 50 in 35 mph zone, called and failed, judgment absolute on bond, voluntary dismissal with leave. Preston Edward Buckley. speeding 67 in 55 mph zone, entered plea of guilty of exceeding a safe speed, fined $10 and costs. Herman Delane Person, driving left of center and driving under the influence of alcoholic beverage, called and failed, judgment absolute on bond, voluntary dismissal with leave. Jackie Dennis Tally, breaking into coin operated machine and damage to personal property, ordered to prison for not less than 12 months and not more than 14 months, suspended and defendant placed on probation for three years on condition he pay the costs of court, pay Willoughby Harris the sum of $562 and remain gainfully employed during the suspension. James Arthur Davis, driving under the influence of alcoholic beverage, found guilty of careless and reckless driving after consumption, ordered to jail for 30 days, suspended for 12 months upon condition he pay a $100 fine and costs and attend and complete the Warren County Alcohol and Drug Education Traffic School and pay the $100 tuition Defendant gave notice of appeal to next criminal session of Warren County Superior Court. He was found not guilty of a charge of speeding 75 in 55 mph zone. Cornell Williams, stop sign violation and driving under the influence of alcoholic beverage, ordered to jail for 90 days, suspended for 12 months on condition he pay $100 fine and costs, surrender his operator s license and not operate a motor vehicle on the N. C. highways for 12 months, and reimburse the state the sum of $150 for his court appointed attorney. Voluntary dismissals were taken on charges of transporting liquor bottle with broken seal and resisting an officer. Lamont H. Salley, speeding 76 in 55 mph zone, called and failed, judgment absolute on bond, voluntary dismissal with leave. Lewis Richardson, speeding 65 in 55 mph zone and driving under the influence of alcoholic beverage, entered plea of guilty of driving while blood alcohol content .10 or more, ordered to jail for 90 days, suspended for 12 months on condition he pay $100 fine and costs, surrender his license and not operate a motor vehicle on the N. Benjamin Edward Lewis, driving under the influence of alcoholic beverage and driving left of center, ordered to jail for 90 days, suspended for 12 months on condition he pay a fine of $100 and costs, surrender his license and not operate a motor vehicle on the highways of N. C. for 12 months. He gave notice of appeal to the next criminal session of Warren County Superior Court. Donald Morns Curtis, speeding 80 in 55 mph zone, called and failed, bond ordered forfeited. John Lewis Alford, speeding 70 in 55 mph zone, called and failed, arrest order issued and bond set at $200. Charles J. Parker, speeding 70 in 55 mph zone, called and failed. Percy Eugene Randle, driving at a speed faster than reasonable and prudent. called and failed Mary Annette Goldring, speeding 70 in 55 mph zone, called and failed. Don N. Williams, operating a motor vehicle without two working headlamps, called and failed, arrest order issued and bond set at $200. David Ronald Gregory, improper brakes, called and failed, arrest order issued and bond set at $200. Tony Wortham, failure to dim headlamps, not guilty. Allen Hane Hargrove, following too closely, called and failed, arrest order issued and bond set at $200. FHA Chapter Wins Awards The Warren County High School Chapter of the Future Homemakers of America participated in the recent District HI competition at James B. Hunt, Jr. High School in Wilson and returned win ners in several areas. The WCHS "We Care" committee won first place for chapter display event with their display. "The Birth of a Chapter." The committee members are Patricia Bran Honor Roll Listed Norlina Middle School honor rolls were announced recently by Clint L. Hege, principal: Students named to the seventh-grade "A" honor roll are: Denny Burrows, Alan Ellington, Patrina Mayfield and Thedric Moseley.
