Stew, which will sell for $3, per quart, will be ready for lunch. Church To Sell Stew i Zion United Methodist Church will sponsor a brunswick stew sale on Saturday, July 31, beginning at noon. Cost is $3 a quart. Cookout Is Scheduled A cookout for prospective players on the Warren County High School football team will be held Friday, July 30, and the first football practice will be Monday night, August 2. Contact the school, 257 4413, for further details, v : Homecoming Is Planned Annual homecoming at Calvary United Methodist Church in Littleton will be Sunday, August 3, at 11 a. m. with the Rev. Charles Morrison, newly-appoint ed pastor of Emanuel United Methodist Church in Burlington, as guest speaker. The Rev. Mr. Morrison is married to Mrs. Dora Mitchell's grand daughter, the former Carolyn Daughtry of Roanoke Rapids. In the event of rain, dinner will be served in the Calvary Homemakers Clubhouse. The Rev. Francis Daniel is pastor of Calvary. Church Sets Services Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Drewry will observe Homecoming Sunday on August 1 at 11:30 a. m. The speaker will be the pastor, the Rev. Kermit Richardson. Dinner will be served following the worship service. Revival services will be held Tuesday through Friday at 7:30 each night. The guest speaker for the week will be the Rev. Thomas Richardson of Centerville. The public is invited to attend. Movie To Be Shown Warrenton Baptist Church will show the Walt Disney Movie "Pollyanna" for youth, singles, families and the elderly on Saturday, July 31, at 6 p. m. There will be a charge of $1 for adults and 50 cents for children under 12. Homecoming Is Slated Harris Chapel Baptist Church in Hollister will have its annual homecoming on Sunday, August 1, and revival services Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6 at 8 p. m. On Sunday, Sunday School will be at 10 a. m., worship at 11 a. m. and dinner at 12 noon. There will be a Sing and Praise Service beginning at 2 p. m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Phil Quails, a native of Hollister and pastor of Momeyer Baptist Church in Momeyer. Stew Sale Announced The Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department will have a stew sale on Saturday, July 31. Stew, which will be available at the Ridgeway cantaloupe shed at 11 a. m., will sell for $3 per quart. Persons furnishing their own containers may buy the stew at $2.75 per quart. Cruise Seats Available Senior citizens of Bethlehem, Hollister and Areola are sponsoring a two-day Tangier Island cruise to Chesapeake Bay on August 26-27. Reservations must be made by August 15. Persons wanting more information on the trip are asked to call 456-2939. Bake Sale Is Planned Warren County Citizens Concerned About PCB will be having a b runs wick stew and bake sale on Saturday, July 31, on the courthouse square. The bake sale will begin at 10 a. m. and the stew sale will begin at 11 a. m. In case of rain the sale will be held across the street in front of Leggett Department Store. Donations Asked Members of the Warrenton Rural Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary who are planning a yard sale on August 7 on the courthouse square are seeking donations for the sale. Fishing Creek became the first precinct to report complete returns when it telephoned its final report at 8:50 p. m. Helping win the traditional counting race were three local residents who tallied votes. They were Willie Mae Richardson, regis trar; Purlean Whitley, Republican judge; and Weldon C. Capps, Demo cratic judge. Fishing Creek cast 354 ballots during the 13 hours of voting. Nutbush Precinct, where 536 voters went to the polls, was the last of Warren's 14 precincts to report, giving elections officials a final tally at 11:20 p. m. A total of 263 absentee ballot applications, the most ever, was received by the Warren County Board of Elections. Almost 200 persons voted by this route. Students Sought For Class Applications are now being accepted for the next Human Resources Development (HRD) class scheduled August 2-September 24 at Vance-Granville Com munity College. Registration for the eight-week session will be July 29 and 30 from 9 a. m. until 3 p. m. in room 1101 on campus. Classes will be held daily Monday through Thursday from 8:15 a. m. until 2:45 p.m. HRD is a jobs training program designed to help persons seeking employment find and hold a job. Students are also offered classroom and practical learning experiences to help them choose and enroll in career training programs. A registration fee of $8 will be charged those persons accepted into the program. Individuals determined economically disadvant aged may qualify for financial assistance through CETA. Students To Report Warren Academy stu dents will report to school on Wednesday, August 25, at 8:30 a. m. to begin academic year 1982-83. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11 a. m., and students in grades 1-12 will be dismissed at 11:15 a. m. A teacher work day is scheduled for Thursday, August 26, and classes will resume for all students on Friday, August 27.
