Unbeaten Club Has Gathering By GLADYS 8TANSBURY Members of the 1947 Undefeated Football Team and Graduating Class of John Graham High School in Warren ton held their 35th annual reunioa at Lake land Cultural Arts Center in Littleton Saturday night. Hosts were the 1982 planning committee, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Harris and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gupton of Littleton, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Quails ofHollister. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Gupton. Mrs. Williams had the team and class members to sign cards to send to Simon Terrell, football coach, Mrs. Kathleen Davis, teacher, and Mrs. Paul W. Cooper, widow of the late Mr. Cooper, school principal, who were unable to attend the reunion. A ounet supper, con sisting of prime rib, chicken, rice and gravy, broccoli, lettuce and tomato salad, congealed salad, rolls and cake, followed the social hour. Irvin Harris served as master of ceremonies and welcomed the team and class members, their husbands, wives and guests. Among the special guests were Mr. and Mrs. W. Hinton (Louise Yeattes) Wesson of Columbia, S. C., and Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Dean of Louisburg. Mrs. Wesson and Dean were teach ers at John Graham. Abo Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Blaylock and Mrs. and Mrs. Lewis Rooker of Warrenton, Mrs. Ethel Quails and Mrs. Eva Williams of Hollister. Blaylock was the class mascot in 1947. Mr. and Mrs. Rooker were supporters of the football team and Mrs. Quails and Mrs. Williams are mothers of Quails and Williams of the planning committee. Each of these was prsented with a gift from the group. Mrs. Wesson and Dean gave a few brief remarks about their families and what they had been doing since 1947. Following the supper, the group attended the show, "Show Stoppers '82" In the theatre. Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Coker of Ahoskie, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Gamble and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Read of Raleigh, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Gardner and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Hardy of Warrenton, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Scott and guests, Mr. and Mrs. David Scott, of Garner, Dr. and Mrs. Henry Creech of Midlothian, Va., Charles Capps of New Carrolton. Md., Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Harris of Murfreesboro, Mr. and Mrs. Hart Pinnell and guest of Charlotte; Also, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bender of Norlina, Mrs. June Wood, Mrs. Dorothy Stansbury, Mrs. Christine Pike and Mrs. Helen Donnell of IittMon, Mr. and Mrs. Million Hagwood and Mr. and Mrs. Hon Tokanik of Portsmouth, Va. Means Salted the word "sausage" la derived from the Latin "salsus," mean ing salted.
