Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Davis died on Saturday, July 9, in Queens General Hospital in Queens, N. Y. The daughter of the late Lue Boyd and Richard Davis, she was born August 17,1901. Mrs. Davis joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age and remained a mem ber until she moved to New York. She then joined the Friendship Baptist Church in Brooklyn, N. Y. She later joined the Prince Memorial Baptist Church where she served as Mother of the Church. She was first married to the late George Wooden and later she was manned to the late Robert Davis. To each union three children were born. Mrs. Davis is survived by six children, Nita Bland, George Wooden, Francise Montgomery, Nannie Farrington, Ella Walker and Emma Davis; 18 grand children, and 13 great grandchildren. A native of Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lula Harris Paschall and the widow of Charles G. Stainback, Sr. She was a member of' Cokesbury United Methodist Church. The Warren County Board of Education, meeting Thursday night for its July meeting, agreed to attempt to make the auditorium cafeteria wing at John Graham Middle School "safe but not useable" as it carefully began ap propriating funds for capital outlay improve ments. The money to be spent on the John Graham wing is expected to be cosiderably less than board members would have had to spend had that portion of the building been put in condition for use. Board members have been ad vised that putting the wing into useble con dition could cost S100.000.
