Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Macklin celebrated their 42nd
wedding anniversary Sunday at a party given by their
children, Selma McAllister and Jessie Macklin of
Brooklyn, N. Y. Jerry Macklin of Norlina, George
Macklin of Macon, and James Edward Macklin of
Norlina. The couple also has five grandchildren.

Woolens have been
put away, but have they
been protected from
clothes moths? These
common household
pests damage many
items, particularly furs
and wool garments.
To prevent moth
damage, follow these
tips offered by Dr.
Harriet Tutterow, ex
tension clothing
specialist - in - charge,
North Carolina State
University.
—Never store dirty
clothing. Dry cleaning
or laundering will get
rid of any infestation,
but cleaning alone will
not keep moths away.
—Once garments are
cleaned, they should be
stored sealed right in
containers. It is best to
keep the clothing in a
cool, dry location away
from sunlight.
—Moth balls work.
Use paradichloroben
zene (PDB) or
naphthalene crystals,
available at most drug
stores or supermarkets.
Certain dyes may be af
fected by the chemicals,
so don't place them in
direct contact with
fabric. Put the PDB or
naphthalene crystals in
a ventilated box in the
storage area.
