C. 20423, an application for a cer tificate of public con venience and necessity permitting the abandon ment of a portion of a line of railroad known as the Roanoke Rapids Subdivision, Raleigh Division, extending from railroad Milepost SA-85.80 near Roanoke Rapids, NC, to Milepost SA-114.77 near Norlina, NC, a distance of 28.97 miles, in Halifax and Warren Counties, North Carolina. The line SBD will seek to abandon in cludes the stations of Littleton (MP SA-98), Macon (MP SA-109) and Warren Plains (MP SA 113) which are served by a mobile agency based at Henderson, NC. The reason for the proposed abandonment is to eliminate an un profitable line and to avoid the maintenance expense on that line.
