Powell, Jr. of Wise has successfully completed the basic course in auctioneering offered by the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in High Point and has been awarded a diploma. The speech and demonstration was enjoyed by all. Mrs. Clayton, a leader, Harold Freeman and Ebony Smith were the birthday of the month members. The meeting was closed by singing happy birthday to them and repeating the 4-H motto. Refreshments were served by the birthday members. Cool Spring 4-H Club Has Meet By REBBIE PERRY The Cool Spring 4-H Club met Feb. 14 at the home of Mrs. Earnestine Bullock with four leaders and 7 4H'ers present. The meeting was called to order by Mark Royster. After the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and the 4-H Pledge, Shornika Royster sang "If You're Happy and You Know It." The roll was called by Brian Boyd, who also read the minutes. The club calendar was discussed and the group talked about 4-H Camp which will be held July 22-27. Members also discussed selling chicken to raise funds. Refreshments were served and the meeting adjourned at 9 p. m. During this meeting new officers were installed as follows0 president, Kennedy Richardson; vice president, Patrick Terry; secretary, Timothy Carter; assistant secretary, Clara Powell; treasurer, Edward Allen; and reporter, James Powell. Three new leaders and one new member joined the club. Mrs. Laura Brown, Ms. Bravetta Watson and Ms. Patsy Jackson were the new leaders while Patty Jackson was the new member. Following adjournment, refreshments were served to the club.
