MANGUM Mangum Named Manager Of Utility Company James E. Mangum, Jr., of Wake Forest, has been appointed general manager of Wake Electric Membership Corporation. Wake EMC is an electric cooperative serving nearly 10,000 member-owners in seven counties. Revenues for the cooperative topped $8 million dollars last year. Mangum joined the cooperative in 1974 as assistant engineer. He has served as staff engineer since 1978. He succeeds Earl F. Shoaf, who resigned January 4. a is/1 graduate ot North Carolina State University with a B. S. in electrical engineering operations, he was employed by Independent Data Processing, Inc. for two years while a student. Following graduation from N. C. State, he was with Martin-Marietta, Inc. as an electrical engineer in its Raleigh office until joining Wake EMC. He is the son of Mrs. Joe Lennon of Warrenton and is married to the former Mary Ella Dodd of Wake Forest. They have two children, Eleanor, 13 and Jimmy 6. Les Gemmes Have Meeting By CORAH. HAWKINS The Warrenton Chapter of Les Gemmes, Inc., a service organization, held its March meeting recently at the home of Clara M. Foster. President Barbara R. Rowlett called the meeting to order after which the invocation was heard and the minutes were read and approved. During a brief business session, the club members discussed plans for the Tea and Fashion show party which is scheduled for May 20 at Warren County High School. Plans were made for the members to attend the Bi-Annual Les Gemmes Conclave which will be held April 13-15 at the Crystal City Marriott Hotel, 199 Jefferson Davis Highway, Alexandria, Va. Following the meeting, Mrs. Foster served punch and canapes to the members present: Mesdames Ruby D. Amos, Christine N. Arlington, Elizabeth D. Baskerville, Fay H. Cathcart, Doris D. Davis, Mary M. Jordan, Maggie D. Kiah, Wanda G. Hunt, Barbara R. Rowlett, Mildred Townes, Mary D. Williams and Misses Magnolia Williams and Ruth H. Wilson.
