(Community Schools Photos) Accreditation Teams Visit Warren County Middle Units Both John Graham and Norlina Middle Schools hosted teams of educators last week during Southern Associ ation accreditation visits. The group of visitors at Norlina was headed by W. W. Edmonds, principal at Grey Culbreth Middle School in Chapel Hill. John Graham's visiting committee was led by Curtis Rains, director of In-service Programs for Wayne County schools. The visits by the ac creditation teams followed over a year's work by the faculties and staff of the two schools. Under the leadership of con sultant, Dr. William B. Rice, principal at Brogden Middle School in Durham, both schools have completed in-depth studies of their educational programs, listing strengths and weaknesses and making plans for improvement The accreditation team members arrived at their respective schools Tuesday after noon, April 17, and at tended receptions in the schools' libraries. Following the socials, the group met with their leaders, Rains and Ed monds, and were given tours of the schools. On Tuesday evening the teams wer entertain ed jointly at a banquet at the Norlina Woman's Club. A musical program was provided by a chorus made up of faculty members from both Norlina and John Graham, and directed by Glendora Powell. On Wednesday, the two teams reported to Arrives For Duty Air Force Sgt. Zevell 0. Mason, nephew of Marion R. Mason of Rt. 1, Macon, has arrived for duty at Clark Air Base, Philippines. Mason, an air traffic control specialist with the 1961st Communica tions Group, was previously assigned at Howard Air Force Base, Panama. His wife, Janet, is the daughter of Julie B. At the end of the day, the visitors met with the faculty and staff for a final presentation by the committee chairmen. "Both reports were positive and en couraging," said Rachael Ricks, assistant superintendent for Warren County Schools.
