(Photo by Richard Hunter) Activities Listed At Warren Plaza By MARTHA PAGE We had a beautiful Mother's Day, with lots of visitors and several of our mothers going home for the day and others taken out for either lunch or dinner. Most of the mothers received cards and packages dur ing the week and several received phone calls from children who live far away and couldn't be here. All in all, it has been a very lovely day for most of the mothers. We had a very beauti ful sermon on mothers Sunday morning from period, 12 members and the Rev. Mr. Currie were served a sweet course followed by af ter dinner coffee and cheesestraws. The Thompson home, "Timily," was cozy with the glow from candle light and old fashioned oil lamps. James Edmonds and a service yesterday after noon with the Henderson Church of God. We have had more response to Mother's Day this year than any previous year that I can remember, and we are very happy for all the mothers. We are all enjoying a lovely bouquet of flowers that the Enter prise Baptist Church brought to Mina Reid and Pearl Bobbitt. They graciously allowed us to put them on our piano so everyone could enjoy them. We have also been enjoying a lovely ar rangement that Ms. Mollie Dye received for her birthday. We have had several people bring out magazines and boxes of clothes for the residents, and we appreciate all of these things. Our flu and pneu monia epidemic has about run its course and we are thankful for that. We have all of our people back in the home except a couple. Walter Rivers and John Wilker son are still in Warren General Hospital and Albert Mitchell is still in North Carolina Me morial at Chapel Hill. Now that the weather has warmed up and we can open up some win dows and get some fresh air, I feel sure this will help everyone to feel better. Mothers having visitors today included: Pattie Arlington, Eula Rivers, Mollie Dye, Lula Darden, Annie Massen burg, and Nettie Wilson. Other residents having visitors were: Tommie Harris, Mina Reid, Sara Burchette, James Fuller, Harvey Carroll, Louise Kearney, Willie Thompson, Jessie Richardson, Gene Chasen, Troy Staton, Harvey Richardson, Joe Ayscue, Cliff Braddy and Walter Rich.
