G1LEND4R. Brunswick Stew Sale Set A brunswick stew sale will be held June 16 at Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department at the can teloupe shed beginning at 11 a. m. Cost is $2.75 a quart v>.ththe container and without. Bake, Craft Sale Slated The Coordinating Council for Senior Citizens will sponsor a bake and craft sale on Tuesday, July 3, on the courthouse square in Warrenton. Proceeds will go toward the renovation of the Senior Citizens Cen ter. All senior citizens clubs are asked to contribute baked goods or crafts to be sold. Family Reunion Planned The Collins-Ellis family reunion is planned for Sunday, June 24, at the Lions Den in Warrenton. Everybody please come and bring a picnic dinner. Dinner will be served at noon. Men's Day Service Slated Guiding Star Church will be observing Men's Day on June 17, at 4:00 p. m. The speaker will be Clarence Toomer of Durham, and music will be furnished by the Warrenton Echoes. The public is invited to attend. Bible School To Begin The Warren Plains Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 18-22, from 7:00 p. m. until 9:00 p. m. Classes will be offered for all ages from Nursery through Youth. Revival Sen/ices Are Set Revival services at Warren Plains United Metho dist Church will begin on Sunday, June 17 and con tinue through Wednesday, June 20, at 8:00 p. m. Dr. Reginald Tonder of First Methodist Church of Rocky Mount, will be the guest speaker and special music will be provided each evening. A nursery will be provided. The Rev. Jon Strother is pastor of the church. Family Reunion Planned The John Henry Smiley family reunion will be held at the Warrenton Lions Den on Sunday, June 17. Dinner will be served at 1 p. m. Those attending should bring picnic lunch and drink. Ice will be fur nished. Warrenton Baptists To Have Bible School Daily Vacation Bible School will begin at Warrenton Baptist Church Monday, June 18, and continue through Friday, June 22 from 9 a. m. until noon each day. Youth age three through sixth grade are invited to join in Bible study, music, arts and crafts and recreation during the week, accor ding to Dr. Gary E. Parker, pastor. Among the special events planned are a kick-off parade Satur day, June 16, beginning at 11 a. m. at the church and continuing through downtown. There will be a bus ride plus ice cream and balloons for those who participate. On Thursday, Billy Pernell will present an art chalk talk and on Friday a picnic at noon will conclude the week's activities. ~ The school will Be directed by Mrs. Pat Forrester and Mrs. Melody Parker. Although pre-enroll ment has already been conducted, youth can still register on Monday morning for the school, Dr. Parker said. Courthouse Squares Judge Allen Presides Over Session Here Judge C. W. William Crump, being intoxicated and disrup tive in public, ordered to jail for 30 days. Brenda Hamm, assault, not guilty. Stanley Evans, assault inflicting serious injuries, not guilty. Itson Paul Sanders, speeding 76 in 55 mph zone, called and failed, judgment absolute on bond, dismissed with leave by prosecutor. Reginal Brian Wil liams, driving while subject to an impairing substance and resisting or obstructing an of ficer, called and failed, bond ordered forfeited, arrest order issued and new bond set at $1,000. William Alonzo Arrives For Duty Army Staff Sgt. Hiram M. Knight, son of Deborah M. and Joe L. Knight of Rt. 4, Little ton, has arrived for duty in Hanau, West Ger many. Knight, a demo lition specialist with the 130th Engineer Brigade, was previously assigned atFortBelvoir, Va. His wife, Verna, is the daughter of Mary B. Henderson of Littleton.
