Peoples. Following the Dickson's visit here, they will return to Sewanee, Tenn. for a short time before moving to Austin, Tex. Mrs. Robert L. Hunter of Norfolk, Va. and daughter, Mrs. Craig Slingluff, of Virginia Beach, Va. were lunch eon guests of Mrs. Rufus S.Jones on Friday. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. A: C. C. is spending some time here with his grand mother, Mrs. Margaret Hight. Mrs. John Gibson of Rockingham, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Coleman and daughters, Emmylu and Mary Parker last week. Mrs. Gibson is the mother of Mrs. Cole man. Mrs. George Scott and son, Bill and Mrs. Robert Cousin and son, Greg, of Richmond, Va. were dinner guests of Mrs. Scott's mother, Mrs. F. M. Drake, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. David Robertson of Raleigh spent the weekend here with Mrs. Owen Robert son, Sr. Bryant Duke of Ithaca, N. Y. is spending sometime here with his grandmother, Mrs. Miriam Coleman. Mrs. Evelyn Wood is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Gordon Pittman, Mr. Pittman and family in Norfolk, Va. Mrs. Carol Reams Busby of Carthage spent the weekend with the Ray Shearins and Greg and Ka thy. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Oakley have returned from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Heather accompanied her grand mother on her return trip and will visit her for sometime. Mrs. John C. Harrison and daughter, Joy of Miami, Fla. returned to their home in Miami, Fla. on Sunday after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Padgett, parents of Mrs. Harrison. Mrs. W.F. Farmer spent Sunday with her brother, Dr. Bob Brame, and Mrs. Brame of Raleigh at their Ken Lake home. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Bryson spent the weekend at their Ken Lake home. Mr. and Mrs. Don Loposay, Kimberly, Karen, Harrod and Natalie of Raleigh were guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd Fleming, Boyd and Tommy last week. William Glenn Flem ing of Raleigh and John Rodgers Fleming of Washington, D. C. spent last week with their mother, Mrs. Thomas Ellington and aunt, Mrs. R. D. Jones. Vaughan Cited For Road Record James M. Vaughan of Rt. 3, Warrenton has been recognized for having driven one full year accident-free for Distribution Service Systems, Inc. of Charlotte. The an nouncement was made on June 7. Vaughan is an in dependent lease driver for the company. He is married to the former Kathy Myrick, and they have three children. Mr. and Mrs. Russ Powell announce the birth of a son, Blake Ar thur Powell, on July 6, in Wilson. The infant weighed eight pounds six ounces. Mrs. Powell is the former Myra Lane Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Johnson of Warrenton. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Russell V. Powell of Wilson. Drewry Ladies Host Seniors By BESSIE BARTHOLOMEW The Drewry ladies were hostesses on Thursday, June 28, for the meeting of the Nor iina Senior Citizens Social Club. The meeting was held at the Drewry fire house. Mrs. Alma Matthews gave the devotion and the group sang the patriotic song "America," accom panied by Mrs. Mat thews at the piano. Following the busi ness meeting, Mrs. Ruby Seaman sang several other patriotic songs, accompanied by Mrs. Matthews. The group enjoyed the lovely hymns she also sang. Mrs. Nance won the door prize. The Manteo trip was discussed. It was decided that the bus will leave on July 17, at 7 a. m., from the parking area behind the post of fice in Warrenton.
