Ice Cream Social Slated
The Adult Group of St. Paul's Lutheran
Church in Kidgeway will sponsor an "Old Fashion
ed Ice Cream Social" on Sunday evening, Aug. 12,
from 6:30 until 8:30 p. m. at the church.Create-your
own sundaes from home-made ice creams and top
pings will sell for $1.00 each. The public is invited to
attend.
Family Reunion Planned
The Hilliard family reunion will be held on Sun
day, August 12, at 1 p. m. at the Drewry Community
Center. Everyone in the family is invited to come
and bring a picnic lunch and beverages.
Stew Sale Is Scheduled
Norlina Chapter No. 158 O.E.S. will sponsor a
brunswick stew sale on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the
Norlina Woman's Clubhouse. The stew will sell for
$3.50 per quart and will be ready by noon. Persons
wishing to purchase stew should bring their con
tainers.
Homecoming Plans Made
North Warrenton Baptist Church is planning a
special homecoming service on Sunday, August 12,
at 11:00 a. m. The speaker will be the Rev. Ralph
Culler and The Lighthouse Trio will provide special
music. Dinner on the grounds will follow the ser
vice.
Block Party To Be Held
The Warren Nursing Center will sponsor a "Block
Party" on Friday, August 10, for residents and their
families. The party, which is scheduled from 6-8 p.
m., will feature music by the Country Grass Band.
Class Reunion Meet Set
The John Graham High School class of 1978 will
have a class reunion meeting at the Warren County
High School on Saturday, August 18, at 5 p. m. All
members of the class are invited to attend to help
with the reunion plans.
Homecoming Services Set
Homecoming services will be observed at St. Zion
Church of Liberia on Sunday, Aug. 12, beginning at
11:30 a. m. Music will be furnished by the New
Bethel Choir, and the message will be delivered by
the pastor, the Rev. J. B. Wilson. A picnic dinner
will be served following the service. The public is
invited.
Annual Service Slated
The Senior and Junior Missionaries of the Cook's
Chapel Baptist Church, Warren Plains, will feature
the Rev. Sister Voyette P. Hunter of Soul City as
their guest speaker at their annual service on Sun
day, August 12 at 2 p. m. All missionaries are asked
to come in white. The Rev. W. L. Barnes invites the
public. Various choirs will render special music.
Reunion May Be Held
Persons interested in getting together the John
Graham class of 1975 for a reunion will meet on
Thursday, August 16, at 7:30 p. m. at John Graham
Middle School library.
Pool Party Plans Made
Warren County 4-Hers are planning a pool party
on Monday, August 13, from 5-9 p. m. Everyone
aged nine to 19 is invited. Hot dogs, drinks, and
various goodies will be sold. Come and swim and
dance for a fee of $1.00.

Teachers' Meet
Is Announced
Teachers in Warren
County's school system
will convene at Warren
County High School for
the 1984-85 school year
at 8 a. m. on August 15,
according to Mike Wil
liams, superintendent.
The opening teachers'
meeting will be held
in the school's theater.
Following the meeting,
teachers will report to
the school to which they
are assigned.
Teachers will have
four workdays prior to
orientation day, August
21, and another work
day on August 22 before
the first full day of
school on August 23.
