Area Deaths And Funerals DR. GEORGE T. DILL Funeral services for Dr. George Theodore Dill, 99, at Manson were conducted at 2 p. m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ridge way. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Douglas Rathjen offici ated. Dr. Dill died Sunday at his residence. A native of Warren Coun ty, he was the son of the late John Dill and Eva Maria Hanselman Dill. He was a retired lieu tenant commander in the U. S. Navy and a member of the Officers' Association. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Birgitta Tyra Imqart Dill of the home. Pallbearers were Er nest Hecht, Jr., Erich Hecht, Dr. Gilbert Sellers, Frank Killian, Alvis Allen, Jr., Leigh Traylor, Leonard Ben der, Wallace Holtzman, and Julius Banzet. JOHN T.THOMPSON Funeral services for John Thomas Thomp son, 58, of Jasper, Fla. and formerly of Warren County, were conducted at 3 p. m. Monday at Blaylock Funeral Home in Warrenton. Burial was in the Plummer Davis family cemetery near Lickskillet. Mr. Thompson, a truck driver, died Thursday. He was the son of the late "Rip" Alston Thompson and Nora Warren Thomp son. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Sarah T. Gordan of Jupiter, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Reid of Norlina and Miss Hazel Thompson of Wise; a brother, William Thompson of Castalia; and a grand child. Pallbearers were Blane Aycock, Charlie Hamm, Gene Thomp son, Alien Reid, Eddie Green Hamm, and Mike Blackwell. HARRY DANIEL Funeral services of Harry Douglas Daniel of Roanoke Rapids were conducted at 3:30 p. m. Sunday at Weaver's Chapel Methodist Church in Littleton. Burial was in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Mr. Daniel, a former employee of Thompson Concrete in Littleton, died Friday morning at Halifax Memorial Hospital. CHARLIE BREWER Funeral services for Charlie Edward Brew er, 88, of Littleton were conducted Sunday at 2 p. m. at Tabor United Methodist Church near Aurelian Springs. Burial was in the church cemetery. Dr. John T. Maides officiated. Mr. Brewer, a native of Halifax County, was a retired fanner. He died Friday at Warren General Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Floyde Carlisle Brewer; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Brewer Mayo and Mrs. Catherine B. Cutchin, both of Littleton; a sister, Mrs. Annie Mae Moody of Townsville; and three grandchil dren. FANNIES. ALSTON Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie S. Alston, 58, were conducted at 2 p. m. Sunday at Norlina Baptist Church by the Rev. J. B. Wilson. Burial was in White's Grove Church cemetery in Warren County. A native of Warren County, Mrs. Alston was the daughter of the late Lillian Drew Shearin and George Washington Shearin, who survives. She died on Sunday, Sept 9, in High Point Memorial Hospital in High Point In addition to her father, survivors in clude her husband, St. Paul Alston, a son, William Shearin of Greensboro; two half sisters, Mrs. Jacquetta Gilmore of Lynchburg, Va., and Mrs. Jeretha Shearin of Richmond, Va., and 10 grandchil dren. CLARENCE WILLIAMS Funeral services for the Rev. Clarence J. Williams, S3, of Baltimore, Md. and formerly of Littleton, were conducted at 2 p. m. Friday at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Little ton. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene D. Wil liams of the home; a son, Rex Delane Williams of Baltimore, Md.; three brothers, • Horace Williams and John Williams of Balti more, Md. and Louis Williams of Ohio; six sisters, Mrs. Frances Cope land of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Carrie Hen derson of New York and Mrs. Viola Hardy, Mrs. Jennie DuBois, Miss Mary Williams, and Miss Susie Williams, all of Baltimore, Md.; and two grandchildren. SPENCERJOHNSON Funeral services for Spencer Johnson, 41, of Hollister were conduc ted last Wednesday at 1 p. m. at Pine Chapel Baptist Church in Hollister. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Johnson died on Thursday, Sept. 7, in New York, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie R. Johnson; his mother, Mrs. Tangie Richard son of Hollister; three sons, Timothy Johnson, Jason Johnson and Neil Johnson, all of the home; one daughter, Sharon Denise Johnson of the home; five sisters, Mrs. Addie Freeman of Ahoskie, Mrs. Ethel Richardson and Mrs. Cindy Carter, both of Hollister, and Miss Beaford Johnson and Mrs. Agnes O'Brady, both of New York, N. Y.; and three brothers, Welford John son, Tommy Johnson and Joe Johnson, all of Washington, D. C. IRENE COLE Y Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Higgs Coley, 82, of Littleton were conducted at 2 p. m. Sunday at Zion Hill Bap tist Church in Littleton. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. C. H.Whitaker officiated. Mrs. Coley, a native of Halifax County, died last Wednesday at Guardian Care Nursing Home in Roanoke Rapids. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Lillie Mae Coley of Richmond, Va. and Mrs. Beulah M. Burt of White Plains, N. Y.; one son, John Henry Coley of Baltimore, Md.; 12 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchil dren. LUEB. MANNING Funeral services for Mrs. Lue Bethal Davis Manning, 65, of Manson were conducted Monday at 2 p. m. at Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Oine, with the Rev. Leon White officiating. Burial was in the church ceme tery. Mrs. Manning died Saturday at Duke Medical Center in Durham following a lengthy illness. A native of Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Lue Bethal Davis Harris and Candace Davis. Surviving are her husband, William Ear nest Manning of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Earnestine Goods of Durham, Mrs. Helen Burton and Mrs. Junice Reid, both of Manson; one son, Ariste Manning of New York, N. Y.; her step-father, Robert E. Harris; four sisters, Mrs. Clementine Hill of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Amanda Durham and Mrs. Angle Pough, both of Brooklyn, N. Y., and Mrs. Mary R. Tally of Norlina; one brother, Edward B. Harris of Boydton, Va.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. ERNEST TABRON, SR. Funeral services for Ernest Tabron, Sr., M, of Littleton will be coo ducted today (Wed nesday) at 2 p. m. at Pleasant Zion Baptist Church by Elder Fred Martin. Burial will follow In the Tabron family cemetery. Mr. Tabron died Saturday at Halifax Memorial Hospital in Roanoke Rapids. Survivors include his four daughters, Mrs. Viola Riley and Bin. J., Mrs. Katie Bryant of Rich mond, Va. and Mrs. Meriean Wade of Rocky Mount; two sons, Ernest Tabron, Jr. of St Louis, Mo. and William Tabron of Littleton; his mother, Mrs. Viola Games of Littleton; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Rumber and Mrs. Virginia Carter, both of Littleton; a brother, Leroy of Balti more, Md.; 23 grand children and one great grandchild. ROBERT BULLOCK Funeral services for Robert Bullock were conducted Tuesday at Burchette Chapel United Church of Christ in Drewry by the Rev. Louis Nettles. Burial was in the church ceme tery. Mr. Bullock, the son of the late George Bullock and Mrs. Etta Bullock, was born April 28, 1935 in Warren County. He died September 14 at Warren General Hospital. Reunion Is Held By Cooper Family The Cooper family helds Its first family reunion In New York over the Labor Day weekend. Hosted by some family members of the Now York-New Jersey area and using the theme "Cooper Family Celebration" the event began on Saturday with a picnic at Valley Stream State Park in Long Island, N. Y. and ended on Sunday with a banquet at the Regency House in Jamaica, N. Y., The family's an cestors were traced back six generations. The reunion Was focused on the fifth generation with reflections on the family unit of the late Charlie Henry Cooper, bora 1*7, who was < resident of Warrei County until his death ii 1973. With attendance of W from various states, those attending (ram the Warrenton area were Mr. and Mrs. D. Y. Cooper, Mrs. Virginia Perry, Mrs. Eldora Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burnett and daughter, Jill, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Alston, Jr., Mrs. Betty Jean Henderson and Mrs. Pauline Watson and son, Sgt. James Watson, presently stationed in London, England. Also attending were Sgt. Henry Davis' wife, An nie and daughter Katrina from Fort Bragg. .
