Ban zet and in Stoneville with her brother Tom Banzet, Mrs. Banzet and their daughters, Helen and Kinsey. Guests of Mrs. Rufus S. Jones this week are her sister, Mrs. J. C. Magruder, Mrs. John Powell and Mrs. Jack Robinson all of White Stone, Va. Col. and Mrs. J. T. Jenkins had as their weekend guests their daughter, Mrs. Tim Nelson, Mr. Nelson and their son John of Green ville and Mrs. Irene Davis of Windsor. On Sunday night they enter tained 30 guests at a buf fet dinner honoring Miss Henee James and Lewis V oung of Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Ryal Woodall spent the week end in Greenville with Mr. and Mrs. Ryal Tayloe and family and attended the baptism of their great-grandson, Ryal Woodall Tayloe, Jr. at St. Timothy Episcopal Church on Sunday following the 11 a. m. worship service. Newton of Englewood, Fla. and her daughter, Mrs. Edward Smith of Panama City, Fla. have returned to their homes after a visit here with Mrs. Newton's sister, Mrs. Julius Banzet and Mr. Banzet. Miss Loyce Blaylock and brother, Dorman F. Blaylock, spent several days recently in Western North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wood of Charlotte were guests of Mr. Wood's mother, Mrs. E. R. Wood Satur day night. Miss Edith Allen and Miss Louise Pender of Burlington were week end guests of Isabel and Edward Allen. Mrs. Ruth Bugg had as her weekend guest, her sister Mrs. Thomas Featherstone, of Clarks ville, Va. Miss Elizabeth Allen is visiting relatives in New Jersey this week. Joining her there for the visit was her brother, Dr. Ivey Allen and Mrs. Allen of New Mexico. Miss Isabel Allen has returned to her home here after spending a week in Nyack, N. Y. Mrs. W. Duke Jones returned Monday from a 10-day trip to the Pacific Northwest and Cali fornia. Weekend guests of John Garrett, Sr. were Mr. and Mrs. John Garrett, Jr. of Reids ville. Mrs. Nancy Moore Mills and son, Steven Mills, of Newport News, Va. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Palmer and attended the Carolina-Navy foot ball game in Chapel Hill on Saturday. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Perkinson and son, Grant, were Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Mc Dougald of Hamlet, parents of Mrs. Perkin son. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Allen Tucker last week was Mrs. Tucker's cousin, Mrs. A1 Welsh of New Boston, Tex. For the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Tucker were in High Point with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Edwards and daughters. Mrs. Edward Hunter is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Steve Brooks, Mr. Brooks and children in Louisburg. Mrs. Nettie Thomp son and Mrs. Ruth Thompson of Elberon were weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thompson in High Point. While there, they attended the wedding of Miss Tammy Thompson on Saturday. On Sunday, they traveled on the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopped at Mabry's Mill before returning home. Mrs. Read Is Feted At Meet Mrs. Fitzhugh Read of Warrenton was honored recently on her 88th birthday by her family. Her children, Fitz hugh Read of Florida and his son, Hugh Read, of Asheville, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Read and sons of Raleigh and Mr. and Mrs. Finley Read and daughters of Lum berton, were here for the occasion. Also visiting Mrs. Read were her nieces and nephews, Mrs. Sarah Palmer Haynes of Chapel Hill, Mrs. Nancy Moore Mills and son of Hampton, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Jones and daughters of Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. James Carr Moore and daughter of Whispering Pines and Mr. and Mrs. Rob Crumpler of Rox boro. The family celebrated Mrs. Read's birthday with a picnic at Satter white Point. Little Garden Club Gathers The Little Garden Club held its first meeting of the new year recently at Cherry Hill, home of Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson. Delicious re freshments were served from the dining room where Mrs. Janet Cole man assisted as co hostess. Tillie Daeke, club president, welcomed the guest, Mrs. Louise King, and invited her to join. Mrs. Mary Hehl, mini garden chairman, discussed plans for fall planting. Each member was asked to take their turn to assist in the weekly care of the gar den. Mrs. Nellie Gardner reported the annual sale of pansy plants begin ning in November. Prior orders can be made by calling 257-3203. Bun ches of 25 plants will be sold for $3.50. After the business session, each member drew a number for a plant exchange. Co program chairman, Dawn Coleman, asked each member to tell the botanical name, the common name and suggested care for the plant she brought to aid the recipient in keeping the plant flourishing. FRANCIS WILMOT AYCOCK,III Miss Robinson Weds Francis A ycock, III Miss Lisa Rachelle Robinson and Francis Wilmont Aycock, III were united in marriage Saturday at 3 p. m. at Warrenton Baptist Church. Dr. Gary E. Parker officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Freddie T. Robin son of Warrenton. She is a graduate of Warren County High School and is currently attending Vance-Granville Com munity College where she is majoring in legal secretarial science. She is employed part-time at Leggett in Henderson. The groom is the son of Mrs. Joyce 0. Aycock of Warrenton and the late Francis W. Aycock, Jr. He is a graduate of John Graham High School and also attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Halifax Community College. He is employed by Welcome Finance of Henderson. The church was decorated with brass candelabra and floral arrangements of white gladiola, mums, daisies and gyposphila. Oregon fern enhanced the scene and pews were decor ated with bouquets of matching flowers. Mrs. Monroe Gardner of Warrenton, organist, and Mrs. Melody Park er of Warrenton, vocalist, presented wedding music. Mrs. Janis P. Meek of Norlina was mistress of ceremonies. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Queen Anne sil houette gown of knit organza. The basque bodice and Juliet sleeves were trimmed with schiffli motifs and pearl-beaded Alencon lace. The flounced skirt and full attached train were bordered with lace medallions and a crystal pleated ruffle. lite bride's headpiece was a floral wreath with a fingertip veil and blusher. Miss Tracy Robinson of Warrenton was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sheryl A. Bauer of Greensboro, sister of the groom, Mrs. Karen Riley of Henderson, Miss Lorie Hundley of Norlina and Miss Joy Williams of Macon. Miss Raegan Coleman of Warrenton, cousin of the bride, was flower girl and Master Ryan Coleman of Warrenton, also a cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. The groom's brother, Gregory Aycock, of Warrenton was best man. Ushers were Richard M. Bauer, II of Greensboro, brother-in law of the groom, Jef frey Dixon of Hender son, Phillip Drye of Henderson, and Jody Proctor of Warrenton. Reception Immediately follow ing the ceremony, the couple was entertained at a reception at War renton Baptist Church fellowship hall. The af fair was hosted by the bride's parents. Mrs. Betty C. Coleman, aunt of the bride, registered guests. The bride's table held a three-tiered wedding cake which was served by Mrs. Harold Robin son of Norlina, aunt of the bride. Punch was served by Mrs. Joyce Philatheo Class Has Gathering The V. L. Pendleton Phiiathea Class of the Warrenton Baptist Church met in the home of Miss Emily Hilliard with Mrs. Mary White serving as co-hostess on Sept 11 at 8 p. m. Mrs. Jack Groves, president, presided. The devotional readings, entitled "Sep tember" and "Autumn," given by Mrs. Lillian Wemyss were appropriate to the fall season. She closed the devotional period with prayer. During the business session, reports were made on the various ac tivities in which mem bers were involved, and the class accepted with appreciation a gift of an umbrella stand from friends of Mrs. Gladys Powell as a memorial to her. Mrs. C. V. Whitford used an article by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale on "Forgiveness" as the basis of her program. The meeting was closed with prayer by Mrs. L. C. Davis. During the time of fellowship, the hostesses served cake, cheese crisps and punch to the 13 members present. Birth Mr. and Mrs. J. Ran dall Newsome announce the birth of a daughter, Crystal Leigh, on August 21 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. The infant weighed seven pounds five ounces. Mrs. Newsome is the former Karen Rivers of Macon. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Rivers of Macon and Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Newsome of Littleton. MRS. DENNIS DALE PEGRAM Miss Robertson Weds Dennis Dale Pearam On September 9 at 3 p. m., Macon Baptist Church was the setting for the double ring ceremony uniting Rhonda Kay Robertson and Dennis Dale Pegram in marriage. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Roy P. Robertson of Warrenton and parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Asa Pegram of Hender son. The Rev. Robert P. McCrary, uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony. A seven-branch can delabrum arch with white mums, yellow daisies and gypsophila was centered in the church with a pair of Oregon fern palms flanking the arch. A pair of colonial candelabra with white mums, yellow daisies and gyp sophila flanked the palms. A kneeling bench with the unity candle was centered in front of the arch. Pianist for the ceremony was Mrs. Margaret Byrd, aunt of the bride and Jack Byrd, uncle of the bride, was soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown with a chapel train of organza and beaded Chantilly lace over taf feta. The fitted bodice featured a sweetheart neckline, outlined with scalloped Chantilly lace, organza Juliet pouf sleeves, and a natural waistline.
