The Rev. and Mrs. Dudley Neal and children, Patrick, Mat thew, and James of Surry, Va., spent the weekend with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clin ton Neal, Sr. The Rev. Dudley Neal was the guest speaker at Brown's Church for homecoming Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Neal and children, Maria and David, of Raleigh were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Neal, Sr. on Saturday. Robert Hunter Shearin of Greensboro and Ronald Shearin of Charlotte, Miss Carolyn Shearin of Chapel Hill and Edward Shearin of Raleigh were weekend guests of Mrs. Roy V. Shearin. Mrs. A. C. Powell re mains a patient at Duke University Hospital fol lowing major surgery. She is in North 6120. Miss Dody Miller has recently returned from the national Quartet Convention in Nashville, Tenn. While in Nash ville, she stayed at the Opryland Hotel and heard the top singing groups in southern gospel music. Judge and Mrs. Julius Banzet, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Banzet, III and Miss Ann Howard Ban zet spent the weekend at Woodberry Forest, Va. Miss Ann Howard Ban zet attended the Fall Dance at Woodberry Forest School as the guest of Richard Charles Bue. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ashworth of Greensboro were weekend guests of Mrs. Ashworth's mother, Mrs. J. Branch Bobbitt. Jeff D. Palmer is a patient at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson and is receiving treatment for a fractured hip. Guests of Mrs. Rufus S. Jones during the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Martin of Alexandria, Va. Mrs. Martin is the former Katherine Scoggin of Warrenton. Mrs. William W. Taylor of Raleigh and daughter, Miss Elizabeth Taylor, of Washington, D. C., spent Friday and Saturday here with Miss Leonora Taylor. In Tarboro on Satur day for the Tour of Historical Homes were Mr. and Mrs. James Frazier, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Lee, Mrs. Tim Thompson and Mrs. James Harris. Guests of Clarence Britton last weekend were his daughter, Mrs. Barbara B. Conner, and granddaughter, Miss Tracey Crevar, both of Raleigh. Billie Whitaker of En field spent the weekend her with his aunt, Mrs. Spencer Scott, Sr. Mrs. William Boyce had as her weekend guest, her granddaugh ter, Miss Mary Brian Cheek of Charlotte. Mrs. Jennene Allen, former Warrenton resident, returned to her home in Portsmouth, Va. on Monday after spending several days here. During her visit, she was the guest of Mrs. Ruth Bugg and Mrs. W. F. Farmer. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Woodall were their grandson, Dr. Dave Tayloe, Mrs. Tayloe and children of Goldsboro. Mrs. Jack Johnson of Jacksonville was the guest of her sister Mrs. George Franklin on Thursday night. On Friday they left for Charlotte to attend the State Realtors Conven tion. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Banzet and daughters, Helen and Kinsey, of Stoneville spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Banzet. Mrs. Eula R. Mrs. Harold Skillman is receiving treatment for a broken hip at Maria Parham Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. David Gardner returned Friday from a vacation in Holland, Belgium and Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Dur wood Johnson were in Wilson on Sunday for the dedication of their grandson, Blake Arthur Powell, at Westview Christian Church. Blake is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russ Powell. Warrentonians in Tar boro on Sunday for The Historical Society's Tour of Homes were Miss Elizabeth Allen, Mrs. Virginia Pearsall, Mrs. William R. Boyd, Mrs. F. M. Drake and Mrs. Fred Hurst. Ryal Woodall is recovering satisfac torily from surgery at a Washington, N. C. hospital. Mrs. Woodall is in Washington with him and is the guest of their daughter, Mrs. Dave Tayloe and Dr. Tayloe. Philathea Class Has Gathering The V. L. Pendleton Philathea Class of the Warrenton Baptist Giurch met in the home of Miss Mary Frances Rodwell with Mrs. Lillian Wemyss serving as co-hostess on Oct. 9, at 8 p. m. Mrs. Jack Groves, president, presided. The program was presented by Mrs. Tim Thompson on the sub ject "Confession of a Pharisee," after which the devotional period was conducted by Mrs. E. R. Wood who read selected verses from the fifth chapter of James and an article on inter cessory prayer. During the business session, it was reported that eight members had 100 percent attendance at Sunday School during the month. Little Garden Club Meets At Parish House By JAN PERKINSON The Little Garden Club met on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church Par ish House. Co-hostess es for the meet ing were Mrs. Dawn Coleman and Mrs. Betsy Gardner. Delicious refreshments were served and decorations followed a Halloween motif. A delightful program was presented by Mrs. Grade Tuck of Floral Designs. She demon strated the art of cor sage-making and in structed us in tying bows. Several club mem bers, including our president, Mrs. Tillie Daeke, plan to attend our District IX meeting house. The personal service project selected (or the month is to send articles of clothing and other needy items to Warren Nursing Center. During the fellowship period, the hostesses served lemon chess pie, coffee, cheese puffs and nuts to 12 members and one visitor, Mrs. Hazel Hight, a former mem ber. Miss White Is Dance Honoree Miss Sherrie Eliza beth White was honored at a birthday dance given at her home on Ridgecrest Drive in Warrenton on Saturday night, Oct. 13. The dance, celebrat ing Sherrie's 14th birth day was hosted by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cal White and her sister, Angle. Refreshments of punch, mints, cheese, sausage, brownies, chips and dip were ser ved to the approximate ly 35 guests in attend ance. Birth Of Child Is Announced Mr. and Mrs. Donne 11 I. Daly, Jr. of New Bern announce the birth of a son, Donnell Ivey Daly, m on August 31 at Craven County Hospital. Mrs. Daly is the for mer Patricia Cherry of Caiy. The paternal grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Donnell Daly, Sr. of New Bern. Mrs. Daly, Sr. is the former Eliza beth Hedgepeth of Warrenton. The paternal great grandmother is Mrs. Estelle K. Hedgepeth of Warrenton. in Chapel Hill on Oct. 22. President Daeke will give a presentation on our downtown Warren ton mini-garden project. We are pleased to welcome three new members to the club. They are: Mrs. Fern Boyd, Mrs. Patty Bugg, and Mrs. Connie DeSalvo. Orders for pansy plants are being taken by club members. There are two dozen plants in a bunch for $3.50. The plants will arrive on Nov. 16 and will be distributed thereafter. Everyone is en couraged to attend the State Flower Garden Show at the N. C. State Fair in Raleigh. There will be fine displays of national and interna tional gardening exhibits featured at this show. Currie performed the double-ring ceremony. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel "Rip" Aycock of Warrantor, the bride is employed at America] in Henderson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Junius Robertson of Henderson and the late Lee Daniel Faulkner. He is also employed at Americal. The couple will make their home at Rt. 6, Henderson.
