Miss Alston Weds Miss Veronica La vail Alston and Gene Alex ander Yates were married at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Greenwood Baptist Church near Warrenton. The Rev. George Jones, Jr., pastor of Wake Chapel Church in Raleigh, officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William P. Alston, Jr. of Warrenton. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. James A. Yates of Raleigh. The bride's gown, made by her mother, featured a scooped neck and was of antique satin, peau de soie, and chiffon, trimmed with simulated pearls and chantilly lace. The bridal hat was of polyes ter lace and chiffon ilUL nylon netting, accented with pearls and lace to match the gown. The bride carried a Bible covered with mums and carnations. Miss Valerie Johnston attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Francine Alston and Miss Zaneta Alston, sisters of the bride. Flower girls were Miss Erica Houston, cousin of the bride, and Miss Amy Wplker, niece of the bride. Eddie Ruffin was best man. Groomsmen were Brent Yates and Earl Yates, brothers of the groom. Following a reception, the couple left on a wed ding trip to the moun tains of Virginia. They will reside in Raleigh upon their return. The World Of Books In The Warren County Memorial Librory Children's Book Week is Nov. 11-17. This observ ance will be an excellent opportunity to introduce your child to the library. Miss Bolton Marries (Continued from page 4) of Warrenton, the Oct. 21 bride-elect of David Spence also of Warren ton, was honored at a bridesmaids' breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Fairfax Restaurant in Roanoke Rapids. Hostesses were Mrs. Ann Harris and Mrs. Eunice Bradley. Upon arrival, the honoree was presented a corsage of silk daisies. The table was decorated with white linen cloths centered with a fruit arrange ment and bud vases of ivy. Those attending in addition to the bride elect were Linda Alford, Virginia Bolton, Ann Spence, Debra Neal, Christy Bolton, Betty Bolton, Viola St.Sing, Peggy Allen and the hostesses. The students collected money and sent it to the Massa chusetts Whale Program and in return, received an adoption paper, a photograph and a newsletter. The money they sent will be used to help stop the in nocent filings of humpbacked whales. The students are pictured above. While in Texas, they visited Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Creech and their new daughter, Faith Maureen. On their way home, they were over night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Proper and sons of Columbia, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. 0. C. Abbott are now resid ing in Louisburg after living in Florida for two years and in South Carolina for the past 17 years. Mr. Abbott was promoted to the position of general roadmaster on the Raleigh Division of the Seaboard System Railroad. He is the son of Mrs. W.H.Abbott, Sr. of Elberon. Mrs. Abbott is the former Mary Ella Watson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Watson of Norlina. Birth Is Announced Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Creech of Hidalgo, Tex. annwnce the birth of a daughter, Faith Maureen, on Sept. 30. The infant weighed seven pounds, two and one-half ounces. Mrs. Creech is the former Kimberly Scott Abbott of Florence, S. C., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 0. C. Abbott of Louisburg and grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C.Watson of Norlina and Mrs. W. H.
