Warren Piaza News By MARTHA PAGE We all had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving here at Warren Plaza. We had a big, nice lunch with turkey, dressing, pumpkin pie and ice cream and all the trimmings. Everyone ate all they could hold and then went directly to bed after lunch for a nap with a full stomach. We had a house full of visitors all during the day and into the evening and several of our residents went home either for the day or for the weekend with family members. Those going home were: Nancy Carter, Edward Spence, Addie Rowe, Gladys Moody and James Scott. It has finally turned cold and feels like winter, but we have had some very beautiful sunshiney days this week and the residents have enjoyed being outside in the sun. We have received lots of nice clothing from many of the local residents, and we appreciate all of them. But there is still a need for bedroom shoes and underclothes. We also need moon boots or soft bedroom shoes for some of the ladies. Many of the residents here have trouble with their feet and are unable to wear conventional shoes. We have several new residents, some from this area and some from Halifax and Northampton counties. They are: John Dawson from Littleton, Joe Morris from Warrenton, Miss Doris Edmonds from Halifax and Mrs. Gladys Moody from Northampton county. We have people from all over the state here, many from as far away as Dare and Hyde counties which are both down on the coast. At the last count we had people from 27 different counties. Warren Plaza has overcome a bad reputation that it had eight years ago when I came here, and we are now getting people from all over the state. Population Boom The world's human population reached its first billion in the early 19th century, but it doubled and reached 2 billion by 1930. By 1975 it had doubled again. In the remaining years of this century world population will top6 billion; by 2025 it will reach 8 billion, says National Geographic.
