Miss Benson Weds In South Carolina Barbara Heath Benson and Thomas Daniel Kelly, both of Columbia, S. C., were married Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a. m. in a private ceremony at Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia. Dr. John R. Lincoln officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Alexander Benson, Jr. of Warrenton. A graduate of Appalachian State Univer sity, she is a sixth-grade teacher at St. Andrews Middle School in Columbia. The groom is the son of Mrs. Lucille Mathias Kelly and the late Thomas Boykin Kelly of Columbia. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, he is president of Capital Blue Print Co. of Columbia and president of Atlantic Reprographics of Myrtle Beach, S. C. Son Of Warren Natives Gets Eagle Scout Award Joshua B. Bobbitt, III, 18, of Troop 562 of Messiah Episcopal Church in Mayodan received the Eagle Scout Award in a presentation Dec. 10 at Mayodan Moravian Church. Bobbitt is. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Bobbitt, Jr. of Stoneville and the grandson of Mrs. J. B. Bobbitt of Warrenton. Bobbitt has been involved in scouting for .vvv.v.v.v.; eight years and has earned 21 merit badges. He has served as assistant patrol leader, patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader. Other honors Bobbitt has received include brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow and Beta Club member. Bobbitt, who is also on a golf team, is a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Reidsville. General Meeting Slated The annual general membership meeting of the Hawtree Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. will be held Jan. 8 at 7:30 p. m. at the firehouse in Wise. All residents of the Hawtree Fire District are urged to attend. Warren School Menus Jan. 7-11 Subject to change without notice. WEDNESDAY Sloppy Joe, Mexican corn, carrot/celery sticks, fresh fruit. THURSDAY - Vegetable beef soup, crackers, peanut butter sandwich, cinnamon bun. FRIDAY-Hot dog in bun w/chili, baked beans, cole slaw, sugar plum cake. All schools will be served the same lunch menu, with Norlina and John Graham Middle Schools and Warren County High School having a second choice. Breakfast Breakfast will be served grades K-6. MONDAY - Manager's choice. TUESDAY - Blueberry muffin, juice, milk. WEDNESDAY Cheese toast/bacon, juice, milk. THURSDAY Cereal, banana, milk. FRIDAY — Poptart, juice, milk. Eruption Repeats Mount Vesuvius, whose eruption in A.D. 79 destroyed the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, has erupted many times since. One eruption, in 1631, killed some 4,000 people. Courthouse Squares Warren Resident To Attend NCWC Joyce Darnell Odom, wife of Woodrow W. Odom of Warrenton, has been accepted at North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, for the spring semester. Mrs. Odom, a graduate of Henderson High School, works as a secretary and bookkeeper for a logging corporation. She is church Sunday school teacher, a trustee for Warren General Hospital and a pianist. She plans to major in religion. North Carolina Wesleyan College is a private four-year coeducational liberal arts college closely associated with the United Methodist Church. Established 28 years ago, the college offers 28 major fields of study and enrolls approximately 1,000 students. Miss Harris On Dean's List Miss Tammy Jane Harris has been named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at Atlantic Christian College with a 3.59 grade point average. Miss Harris serves as vice president of the sophomore class, clerk of. the Senate, president of Wenger Dormitory and a member of the science and physical education clubs. A physical therapy major, Miss Harris is a 1963 graduate of Halifax Academy. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay H. Harris of Littleton.
