Many Customers Are Now Paying With Bank Drafts Approximately 36,000 Carolina Power and Light Company custom ers pay their electric bills each month without lifting a finger. They save time and postage or gasoline by participating in CP&L's bank draft program — an optional, free service in which customers' electric bills are paid automatically from their bank accounts. "Many people like the convenience of not having to drive to the of fice or mail in the pay ment," said CP&L War renton area manager James E. Parnell. "And they know that if they are away from home, their bill will still be paid on time." Customers select the date that their electric bill will be deducted from their bank ac count. It can be as early as five days after the billing date and up to and including the past due date, Parnell ex plained. Customers on the program still re ceive a monthly state ment from CP&L which shows how much elec tricity was used and how much it cost. "it a customer has a question about his or her bill," Parnell said, "we will make sure that the bank doesn't draft the account until the question has been an swered. We just ask that the customer talk with us at least four work days before the draft date." The utility company's manager said CP&L is offering the bank draft option aa a service to customers and as a way to hold down its admin istrative costs. The local CP&L office has more information about the draft payment . Plan At Worrenton's High Pollor Worehouse Eiahth Annual Hee Haw Performance Set The eighth annual Hee Haw has been set for May 11 at High Dollar Warehouse on Franklin Street in Warrenton. "Hee Haw — Warren County" has improved with age, Mrs. Carter noted. Many changes have been made through the years to improve the show and the produc tion. Additional and suspended sound systems, rearrange ment of performance stage, addition of a second stage for "skits," and improved parking facilities were added last year. Among the changes this year will be bleachers to complement seating capacity. Space will also be allowed for those wishing to bring their own chairs. Approximately 700 people attended the show last year. Sponsors anticipate a larger turn out this year, and are making this announce ment early to avoid con flicts with other com munity activity sche dules. Mrs. Carter urges everyone to mark the calendar now for an evening of family enter tainment. Hotdogs and baked goods will go on sale at 5:30 p. m.; show starts at 7:30 p. m.
