According to Assistant Town Clerk Mrs Carolyn Robertson, the budget provides for additional help in the Water Department and the Police Department. Increases were figured ■it three percent and five percent for those currently employed The budget is based on a tax rate of 55 cents per $100 valuation and reflects an increase of approximately 10 percent above last year's budget I -ast year's tax rate was 81 cents per $100 Included in the financial planning for the new year pre an estimated $21,532 in revenue sharing funds Mrs Robertson noted that this is 75 percent of last year's total of $26,455 The funds will be used to offset the costs of street lighting in the town and are a part of a federal program. Other budget categories called for $338,853 in the General Fund, $118,974 for the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and $245,865 for Water and Sewer These added to intergovem resulted in the final budget figure. The budget was adopted at a called meeting of the board and will lake effect on July 1, the beginning of the fiscal year Mayor To GeT COG Position Warrenton Mayor B G.
