Area Deaths And Funerals ANN M. PALMER Funeral services for Mrs. Ann McWhorten Palmer, 64, will be conducted tomorrow (Wednes day) at 11 a.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Cameron West. Burial will be in the Palmer family cemetery near Oakville. Mrs. Palmer died at her residence Sunday. She was born in Greene County, Ga. and was the daughter of the late John A. and Annie Mae Sanders McWhorten. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Palmer; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Harrington of Oakton, Va.; a son, Jeff Palmer, Jr. of Arl ington, Va.; a sister, Mrs S. 0. Nunn of Warrenton; a brother, Sanders McWhorton of White ville; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Val McWhorten, John A. McWhorten, Pete Harrington, Bill Stewart, Jack Harris and Scott Gardner. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Warrenton Rotary Club. DUNN Graveside services for Mrs. Kate Dixon Dunn, 90, were con ducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery by the Rev. Ed Beddingfield. Mrs. Dunn died last Wednes day at Halifax Memorial Hospital in Roanoke Rapids. She was the wife of the late Leonard Dunn. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Champion and Mrs. Shirley Boswell of Warrenton; a son, John Dunn of Meridian, Miss.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. ROSA LEE JONES Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Lee Jones, 59, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roanoke Christian Church in Palmer Springs, Va. by the Rev. James M. Hargrove. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Jones died Monday, April 21 at Durham County Hospital in Durham. She was born in Mecklenburg County, Va. on April 22, 1927 and was the daughter of Mrs. Lillie Satter white and the late Richard Games. She was married to the late Ned Jones. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Roberts of Wise; and a brother, Richard Games. Pallbearers were Carter Howard, Allen Baskerville, Wallace Haskins, Willie Wright, Robert Talley and Willie Seward. Arrangements were by R. H. Greene Funeral Home of Warrenton. ROMANCE THROWER Funeral services for Romance Thrower, 74, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Locust Grove Baptist Church in Wise by the Rev. Robert Bumette. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Thrower died Thursday. He was bom in Warren County on March 15,1912 and was the son of the late Mary E. and Richard Thrower. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Jenkins Thrower; a daughter, Elizabeth; a son, Bob by Ray Thrower; three step-sons, James Jenkins of the home, Charles Jenkins of Petersburg, Va. and William Jenkins of Nor folk, Va.; and three grand children. FAULKNER Graveside services for Mrs. Myrtice Harris Faulkner, 79, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tues day at Fairview Cemetery by the Rev. Ralph Culler. Mrs. Faulkner died Sunday at Warren Nursing Center. She was born in Warren County and was the daughter of the late William Henry and Laura Shearin Harris. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Jefferson Faulkner. Surviving are three sons, William Henry Faulkner and L. J. Faulkner of Warrenton, and Charles (Peewee) Faulkner of Norlina; a daughter, Miss Dorothy Mae Faulkner of War renton; a brother, Phil Harris of Henderson; and two grand children. Mrs. Hawkins died last Wednesday at her home. She was born in Warren County on Nov. 1, 1914 and was the daughter of the late Willie and Emma Harper. She was married to the late Ollie Watkins. HAITHCOCK Funeral services for Mrs. Ed na Scott Haithcock, 67, of Hillsborough, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Hillsborough by the Rev. Dr. Thomas Denton. Burial will be in the Hillsborough Town Cemetery. Mrs. Haithcock died Tuesday morning at her home at Rt. 4, Hillsborough. She was a native of Orange County and the daughter of Clyde H. Scott and the late Emily Dodson Scott. She was a retired salesperson for Belk-Leggett. Surviving, in addition to her father, areiter husband, Worth Haithcock; two sons, Mark B.
