Ruritanettes Meet On Monday Night Afton-Elberon Ruritanettes held their monthly meeting Mon day night at the home of Mrs. Ruth Frazier. The meeting was called to order by President Carolyn Pitzing. The club song, "America," was sung and the pledge to the flag was given. Prayer was led by Ann Brown and the treasurer's report was given by Anne Gottschalk. After a short business session, the meeting adjourned and refreshments were served. Closing prayer was given by Delia Stegall. Undergoes Tests Mrs. Faye S. Gupton of Henderson and Mrs. Mildred C. Shearin spent last week in Baltimore, Md. with Mr. and Mrs. Gary W. Gray. Mrs. Gray was a patient at the Johns Hopkins Hospital where she underwent preliminary tests in preparation for her transplant surgery scheduled for a later date. Artist Invited To Three Events Dianne T. Rodwell, local artist, has been invited to participate in three upcoming art exhibitions. Along with 20 other artists, she will exhibit in the second pro gressive art show and sale spon sored by the Community Council for the Arts in Kinston on Friday, May 2. Four originals by Mrs. Rodwell will be on display in private homes on the tour. Three originals as well as a number of prints by the artist will be exhibited during the Raleigh arts festival, ArtsPlosure, scheduled for Saturday and Sun day, May 3 and 4. Mrs. Rodwell will exhibit with the Artspace Artists Association in the festival which will be held in the 200 block of Fayetteville Street Mall. Hours for the show and sale are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday. All four of Mrs. Rodwell's en tries for the Eighth Annual Inter national Show which opens Satur day in Billings, Mont, were ac cepted by the sponsoring organization, the Montana Miniature Art Society. Her originals for this juried competi tion met the standards for miniatures, which must be rendered one-sixth life size or less. The finished work cannot measure more than 10 inches framed. The show will be held at the Castle Gallery in Billings and will continue through June 13.
