How to Avoid Feeling Stuffed
The holiday season can be a time
of unbridled indulgence in food and
drink with lots of turkey and ham,
all the fixings, and perhaps a good
wine or cocktails to toast family and
friends.
Doctors suggest moderation with
holiday food and drink. If you must
try everything on the menu, take
small portions and leave room for
the main course. Don't leave your
self feeling more stuffed than the
turkey. Going overboard at the holi
day groaning board can have you
groaning with indigestion or heart
burn when the party's over.
Areola Firemen
Fight House Fires
Two trucks from the Areola
Volunteer fire department
responded recently to fires in the
Hollister area responsible for the
destruction of two homes.
According to Gary Harris, Ar
eola fireman, the interior of the
mobile home on Ita Road belong
ing to Morris Lynch was
destroyed last Monday night by
flames originating from an oil
furnace. A home off N. C. 561
owned by T. R. Wollett was
destroyed the following night by
flames originating from a wood
heater.
No one was at home at the time
of either incident and there were
no injuries.
