Wrestling Event Set The National Guard Armory will soon be the site of a first for the county. The International Wrestling Association (I.W.A.) has in cluded Warrenton in its tour of cities in Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina. According to Bennie Beck, I.W.A. promoter, the event scheduled for Friday, March 20, will be the first of a possible series. Scheduled for the first set of matches are wrestlers Dirty Rhodes, Wild Samoan, the Bruise Brothers, Bent Allen (brother of Magnum T. A.), Mickey Gunn, Man Mountain Link, the Funk Town Kid and High Flying Donald Driggers. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets for the 8 p.m. match will be available at the door for $6. Children will be admitted for $4. MISS BALLANCE Athletic Honor Is Given Scholar Angela Ballance of Warren County High School has been designated as Scholar-Athlete by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. To earn this honor, a student athlete has to maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the semester in which he or she is competing. Fall and winter sports are based on first-semester grades, while second semester grades are used for spring sports. The principal of the school and the head coach in the appropriate sport fill out the forms for the Scholar-Athlete award and for ward the information to the NCHSAA office in Chapel Hill. Each Scholar-Athlete will earn a special certificate. Miss Ballance is a member of the varsity basketball team at Warren County High School. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ballance, Jr. of Warrenton. Joseph Sweard-s Reports For Duty Marine Cpl. Joseph B. Seward, son of Joseph C. and Lillie M. Seward of Rt. 1, Man son, recently reported for duty at the Marine Corps Develop ment and Education Command at Quantico, Va. A 1982 graduate of Warren County High School, he joined the Marine Corps in September 1982. The Yellow Jackets ended the Midget Boys' Basketball League's season in the ranaer-np slot.
