Local Women Injured
In Henderson Wreck
Two Warrenton women re
named hospitalized Tuesday,
>ne in critical condition, as a
esult of injuries sustained in a
wo-car collision last Tuesday in
Henderson. A third local woman
eceived minor injuries in the
iccident.
Mrs. Will Jones Bobbitt re
named in intensive care at Duke
Medical Center in Durham where
i spokesperson said her condition
was critical.

According to a report by the
Henderson Police Department,
he accident occurred when Mrs.
iobbitt apparently failed to heed
i stop sign at the intersection of
'.ollicoffer Avenue and Chestnut
Street and came into the path of
a flower delivery truck. Mrs.
Bobbitt's automobile was hit
broadside by the truck traveling
north on Chestnut Street and was
forced into a utility pole, the
police report stated.
Ptl. R. H. Duncan who in
vestigated the 3:14 p.m. accident
said it appeared Mrs. Bobbitt did
not see the stop sign or was not
aware it existed at the
intersection.
Mrs. Bobbitt was transported
by Vance County Ambulance Ser
vice to the Henderson hospital
where she was stabilized and
later transferred by LifeFlight to
Duke.
Scott Wesley Rollins of Sanford
was listed as the driver of the
delivery truck, owned by C.W.F.
Inc. of Sanford.
Damages were estimated at
$2,000 to each vehicle.
Assisting at the scene of the
wreck were the Vance County
Rescue Squad and the Henderson
Fire Department.

installed Thursday night by National Vice President Jim Godfrey are,

meeting of the Warren County
Jaycees and also installed the of
ficers for the 1987-88 club year.
Godfrey is vice president of the
national Jaycees organization
and serves as executive director
of the Chamber of Commerce in
Lenoir County.
Feeding Progams
Are Scheduled
Warren County Schools will
operate four Feeding Programs
this summer in connection with
planned programs at Norlina,
Hawkins, Vaughan and Warren
County High School.
The Extension Service of War
ren County will operate summer
camps at Norlina Middle School
(June 15-26), Hawkins Elemen
tary School (July 6-17) and
Vaughan Elementary School
(Aug. 10-14). Breakfast and lunch
will be offered to all children
under 18 during those weeks.
The Warren County Board of
Education will operate a summer
school program at Warren Coun
ty High from June 22 through Ju
ly 23. Breakfast and lunch will be
served to all children under 18
years of age.

three local Jaycees during a banquet last Thurs
