PERFORM ANNUAL CONCERT?The Warren County High School Eagle Chorus gave their annual Christmas concert in the Warren County High School theater on Sunday atternoon before a full house. The concert featured traditional Christmas carols and solo perform ances. The chorus was accompanied by director Howard Lee Stultz on the piano (Staff Photo by Howard Jones) Around War ronton Mrs. George Franklin and Mrs. James West attended the Oakwood Candle Tour in Raleigh on Saturday and Sunday. They were docents in the UDC House at the comer of Blount and Lane streets. Mrs. Lillian Braucr of Ridgeway visited Misses Dody and Ilcan Miller and Mis. Flossie Hilton Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Greg Kirby of Hen derson visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Davis, Jr. in Inez during the weekend. Mrs. Glenn Coleman of Inez vis , ited her sisters, Mrs. Hazel Kidd in Roanoke Rapids on Saturday. f Mrs. Don Loposay,' Kimberly, Karen, Jarrad and Natalie 6f Raleigh visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd Fleming, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Flavel of Jensen Beach, Fla. is spending some time in Warrcnton visiting family and friends. Mrs. Flavel is the daughter of Mrs. Beaufort Neal. Mrs. Helen Farmer and Mrs. Mar garet Sipes have returned from a trip to New York. While there, they at tended a couple of theater perfor mances and visited Radio City Music Hall and other places of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Paynter of Ashland, Va. spent Saturday with Mrs. Thurman Paynter in Af|on. N.R. Pescara and grandson in Pajatha, Fla. visited Miss Catherine Brown of Inez during the weekend. Mr. Roy Undcrhill of Williams burg, Va. visited Mrs. George Davis in Inez Saturday. Jimmy Peoples of Afton has re turned home following a stay in Duke Hospital. Sunday dinner guests of Ms. Gla dys King were Mrs. Juanita Coley, Mrs. Becky Murray, Mark Coley, Fred Murray, Jr. and Trish Ellis, all of Raleigh. Rudy Kilian of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham is home for the holidays. Karen Harris of UNC-Chapel Hill is home for Christmas break. Saturday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rooker of Inez were Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Whitehurst of Chesapeake, Va. and Kevin and Kelly Albertson of Virginia Beach, Va. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Benson, Jr. spent the weekend in Rocky Mount with Mrs. Benson's sister, Mrs. Pauline Betls. Todd, Diane andTravis Davis spent Sunday afternoon in Durham with her mother, Gail Clower, and her grand father, Dillard Griffin, to celebrate Travis' sixth birthday. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Shearin and Chris of Fayetteville. Philathea Class Members Gather The V. L. Pendleton Philathea Class was served a three-course Christmas dinner by members of the Norlina Women's Club at their club house on Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Class members and their guests were welcomed by Mrs. Mary White, president. The Rev. Bryan Hatcher asked the blessing. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Gardner led the group in singing Christmas carols, after which Miss Edith Allen involved everyone in a "Jeopardy" game based on the Bible. Euzelian Class Members Have Party The Euzelian Sunday School Class of Warrcnton Baptist Church held their annual Christmas party in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Lee on Sunday, Dec. 17. Approximately 35 guests enjoyed the singing of Christmas carols led by Mrs. John Link. Gifts were exchanged and refreshments enjoyed by all. MISS EDMONDS Local Resident Wins Scholarship Miss Lisa Edmonds, a senior nurs ing student at Atlantic Christian Col lege, has been awarded the Lottie Ellis Tuition Scholarship in the amount of $3,600. Since enrolling at Atlantic Chris tian in the fall of 1986, Miss Edmonds has been on the dean's list. In her junior year, she was named chief marshal of her nursing class, having earned the highest grade point aver age. Miss Edmonds is a member of Alpha Chi National Honor Society and the Theta Alpha Kappa Honor Society of Religious Studies. She has also been cited in "Outstanding Young Women Of America" in recognition of her outstanding ability.
