Airy and a couple of hours afterwards a telegram was re ceived that he was waiited at Marion, Va., for stealing a hbrse. ! Sheriff Greenwood tells us that Satur day week ago this same fellow stayed ill night at his housd and that next morning, when he found out he was at the sheriff's house, hq. slipped out of the door when no one was watching And left about as fast as his legs could ake him. I r I Porter says however that he is not the man who was in Mt." Airy Jail, and says he has never heard otMiller's murder. But his statements are? very contradicto- iy- ' He fills the description of Millers iiurderer, very closely, except as to age. He seems younger than is stated in the description. He wears blue overalls Over his pants which are striped. Tf hen arrested he had on a light , coat and dark jacket.
