Tevis (Freebooters) is trying to ride off Pope (San Mateo) * Hell Drivers at Rocky Mount GIVE PERFORMANCE FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT FAIR The Hell Drivers, whose faces and daring stunts have flashed across the screens of most North Carolina theatres in the last month, together with the champion dare devil, “Lucky” Teter, ace making their final appearance for this sea son in this state on Friday after noon at the Rocky Mount Fair. It will be the year’s last opportu nity for Carolinians to witness at first hand the famous two-hour per formance that has become known internationally, which has grown this year into a larger, better equip ped organization, now carrying 22 pieces of rolling stock and fourteen daredevils. All fourteen stunts that were shown at the Canadian National Ex hilbition and at the Eastern States Exposition this year will be shown at Rocky Mount for Friday’s Thrill Day. Officials hav repeatedly con gratulated themselves on being sue cessful in securing the services of “Lucky” Teter to make Friday the big day of the Fair. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Williams and family went to Wilson and Rocky Mount Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Belle and family of Middlesex spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. E>. Belle. Miss Bessie Belle is improving nicely after a tonsil operation Oct. 25th. Mr. Earl Williams and Mr. Junior Allen attended the big circus at Wil son Saturday night. Fiddlers Convent’n At Harris School The attention of music makers is called to the old-time Fiddler’s Con vention which will be held at Harris j School, Nov 6, Friday night, by the ! Parent-Teachers Association. The convention will include con tests between the various kinds of J musicians. Liberal cash prizes will be awarded the best fiddler, banjo and guitar player, tap and clog dancer.
