Edpar Allen Poe James Creech came home from the hospital on Thursday of last week having recovered sufficiently for the trip after an operation for sinus trouble. S. P. Gill has returned to his j work in Baltimore after a week’s visit at home- His mother, Mrs.: Victoria Gill, and sister, Miss Ca trina Gill accompanied him on the return trip, which was made through the country. Mrs. R. G. Williams of Raleigh has returned home after visiting in the home of her cousin, G. K. Cor bett, here. A message from V. R. Brantley asked that his copy of the Record be mailed to Woodland instead of Franklinton. He is now principal of the school at Woodland and has j moved there. Little Haze] Chamblee Herring is out from Raleigh to spend some time here. She will visit both sets of grandparents here, spending the ; greater part of the time with the M. B. Chamblees. Miss Frankie Hall has gone to Wriphtsville Beach on a house par ty. From there she will go to Myrtle E'cach for a stay at that re sort. Mrs. R. H. Brantley and child-, ren, R. H. and Billy, have returned from a visit with relatives at Mor- j panton. They were accompanied home by Mrs. Brantley's cousin Mrs. Arney, who will be here for a week. Weathers and children spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Pierce. Mr. and Mrs. Bureau Tessenear and children of Bethany community spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs N. A. Finch. Mrs. A. H. Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Larby Perry and children spent a week recently at Bay View. Mrs. Mamie Zahriskie of Tifton, Ohio, visited Miss Bruce Pearce last Monday. A? a result of a successful revi val meeting here last week a large membership has been added to the Pearce church. The baptising will be Sunday P. M., at two o’clock at D. Yeargins pond. Mr and Mrs. Bolding of Rocky Mount, Va., spent their vacation with Mrs. Boulding’s mother, Mrs. little son, Bobbie, of Statesville, are E. O. Pearce, last week. Mr .and Mrs. Robin Gardner and spending the summer with their parents here, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Pearce. They are attending Wake Forest summer school. A surprise birthday dinner was giver, Mrs. J. B Privett last Sunday by h'r children and friends. She was seventy-five years old. Miss Geralda Turnage of Louis burg visited Mrs. J. W. Perry last week attending the revival meet ing.
