And Wednes s the coolest day of the sum- CLUB NOTES DONATION DAY The regular monthly meeting of the Home Demonstration Club will be held at Wakefield on next Wed nesday afternoon. In addition to the program, Donation Day will be observed. Members and friends of the club are asked to bring or send any odd cups, plates, forks, platters or spoons they may be willing to spare for use in the club kitchen. Through breakage and misplac ing the dishes now on the shelves are not enough for serving a large I number at once and this method of replenishing was decided on. All gifts wdll be appreciated. ROAD NEARS COMPLETION All the grading has been done on No. 95, the new highway from Zeb ulon to Rocky Mount. It will be completed within the next few weeks. 11.7 miles to Stanhope re mains to have the bituminous treat ment applied. Then through traffic will have two routes to Rocky ML, one by Spring Hope and Nashville and the other by the new 95 which will be about six miles shorter. FARMERS TAKE TRIP A party of 50 or 60 farmers from Wake county made an inspection trip of farms through Southern and Western sections of the county on Tuesday. They traveled in a bus directed by County Agent Jno. C. Anderson. At Fuquav Springs the communi ty gave the party a banquet and at New- Hill a big melon cutting. Those in the party from Zebulon were C. S. Chamblee, J. M. Whitley, P. G. Curtis and Prof. Senter. Pleasant Hill News 1 We are sorry to report Mrs. W. M. Tlood is sick. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Agans spent Sunday in Bethany community with Mr. and Mrs. Lennie Willi ford. Mrs. E. W. Hood, Mrs. C. M. Rhodes and Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Hodge returned from New Jersey last week atfer spending a week or more with relatives. The crops are looking fine since we had our last rains. Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Puryear of Wake Forest, who were in an au tomobile wreck week before last, are improving. Mrs. Puryear stay ed in the Hospital two days. Richards were Durham visitors on Tuesday Mrs. Jeanne Robertson is spend ing the weekend with her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Oakley. Douglas, Frederick, Paire Lee, Ovalette, Inez Bobbitte and Fran ces Rowdand spent Sunday at White Lake. Melvin Bunn visited W. R. Bob bitte Sunday. Pearl Ray and Barbara Reed of Asheville were visitors of Frances and Louise Rowland last week. Christine Duke of Roleisville w'as the weekend guest of Miss Mildred Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie L. Hudson were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs Baxter Richards and Mr and Mrs. Jack Mitchell attend ed the barbecue dinner given by Mr. W. B. Hopkins of Hopkins Cross Roads Saturday. Mr. Johnnie L.. Hudson, Buck Richards and George D. Richardson spent a few days last week in Clinton, building a pack house for Mr. McCullen. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Whitting ton were week end guests of Mrs. M. C. Pate. Rev. Mr Sexton of Rocky Mount took dinner at the home of Mrs. Arkell Phillips Sunday.
