FIRST ENGLISH CHURCH AND FIRST ENGLISH FORT RESTORED ON ORIGINAL S.aES AT ROANOKE ISLAND, NORTH CAROLINA Mtree. One of the members of the Colony was Virginia Dare, the first child born of English parents in Amer ica, August 18th, 1587. The restored Chapel will contain .the few remaining relics of tne ill-fated Colony. The 350th anniversary of the “Lost Colony” will be com memorated at Roanoke Island. North Carolina, in a series of celebrations from July 4th to September 4th. The Fair’s landscape engineers explain that the moving of the big trees differs from the replanting of small shrubs only in Ufhe matter of size, and that modern mechanical aid -?s make possible the creation of a mature-looking park on the newly made land of Flushing Meadow.
