MY CALENDAR
No dates are in my calendar
With which I mark the days—
No man-made thing can chart for
me
The season’s mystic maze.
For no one needs a printed tale
To make it very sure
That spring has come when lilacs
speak
Os memories that endure.
I mark the summers hours by songs
Os birds in glen and glade—
And ail the years not one mistake
Has any singer made.
And autumn has a tender word
It writes across the sod—
A shining word of faith and cheer
That men call goldenrod!
—Arthur Wallace Peach.
