Mrs. Ted Davis was taken to Duke Hospital, Durham, on Tues day afternoon to receive treatment. A blood transfusion was given Thursday. Miss Ruth Daughtry of Goldsboro visited Joselyn House last week. She was one of her Junior suite mates at Meredith College last year. Miss Lorraine Bridgers is at j home after attending summer school at ECTC, Greenville. Jocelyn House returns to Mere dith College Wednesday, Sept. 3th, to begin her Senior year in Music. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Joyner and j son, James, formerly of Wakefield, ; now of Mt. Olive, were in Zebulon for a while on Monday and stopped in the Record office, where they were most welcome. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. House at tended the Home Coming services at old McKindree Methodist church in Edgecombe county Sun day. A barbecue dinner was served under the pines in the yard. This church is in the community within which Mrs. House’s mother was reared. Her grandmother was a member of this church when Rev. C. L. Read held his first charge at. this church when beginning his ministry. He was invited to attend thpse services but due to being un der a doctor’s care, was unable to attend. CHAMBLEE REUNION SUNDAY The annual reunion of the fami ly and relatives of the late Sidney Chamblee will be held on next Sun day at the old home place now oc cupied by C. S. Chamble and fami ly. This occasion is always note worthy as to program and dinner, and is regularly attended by large numbers of the family connection. Miss Inez Pitts is home for the cottton-picking-vacation from her school teaching. She had as visitor during the week end her cousin, Miss Brummitt of Oxford. Mrs. Ida Hall and Mrs. Evelyn Morrow visited Myrtle Beach last week. On the return they stopped in Hamlet, from which place Miss Marjorie Birmingham accompanied them home for a visit. Good Work Done At Library The library at the woman’s club is closing this week with a much better circulation record than it had last summer. The Olivia Ran ey Library in Raleigh furnished the books and 1,538 books have been read since June Ist.
