Convention I The American Legion this week held its annual convention in New York City with several hundred, thousand in attendance. As usual | the legionnaires mixed serious dis cussion with fun-making. Call was made upon the men, now middle aged, who answered the call to arms in 1917, to heed the call for equally heroic work now to save the principles of democratic govern ment. Also steps were taken to halt the trend toward discrimination against men over 40 years old in giving jobs. It was charged that both government and industry were guilty of this pratcice.
