Billy Winstead has recovered from a recent tonsil operation suf ficiently to be able to return to school. Mr. and Mrs. Yates Newton, re cently married, are making their home in Zebulon, Mr. Newton be ing employed in the wholesale de partment of the Zebulon Supply Store. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Privette announce the birth and death of a son at Mary-Elizabeth hospital on October 16. Mrs. Privette’s condi tion is said to be satisfactory. Mrs. Robert Phillips has had some serious trouble with hemmor rhages from her throat following her recent tonsillectomy. She re turned to the hospital last Sunday for treatment and may have to go again. * Dr. H. T. Firmer, of Richmond, with his wife and son, Harvey, Jr., spent the week end with his sister, Mrs. Theo. B. Davis. G. K. Corbett has been carrying the mail this week, substituting for A. S. Bridges, regular carrier, who has been sick. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bunn an nounce the birth of a son, Howard, Jr., on Monday, October 18, at their home in Zebulon. Mrs. L. M. Massey, who returned from Rex hospital the latter part of last week after a few days there following a tonsillectomy, suffered a hemorrhage from her throat on Sunday night and was taken back to the hospital again, where she will remain until practically well. Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Whitley with Charles and Nancy went last Sun day to Siler City to visit Mrs. Hel en Whitley and the Baylus Whit leys, who live near the town. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Murray, of Wake Forest, R. 2, announce the birth of a son on October 13. Visitors in the H. C. Wade home on Tuesday and Wednesday were Mrs. Wade’s nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Spivey, of Long Beach, Cal. Ralph House has been elected , president of the Wake County club at Campbell College; Mary Iva Gay is vice-president; Gladys Yancey is secretary. Ralph House is also president of his Sunday School class at Camp bell. Jack Temple, student at Louis burge College, spent the past week end at home. Rolesville Miss Christine Fowler spent the week end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Fowler. Jones, of 823 Second St., Durham, announce the birth of a daughter, Bonnie Lynn, at Watts hospital on Sat. Oct. 16th Mrs. Jones was formerly Miss Euphemia Allen, of Wendell and Mr. Jones is the son of Mrs. Paul Jones, of Wakefield. Mother and baby are doing well and expect to leave the hospital for their home the latter part of the week. W. A. RAY Willie Andrews Ray, aged 39, died at State Hospital on October 20. Burial was at Hopkins Chapel on Thursday p. m. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. George W. Ray; three sisters, Mrs. C. B. Hodge, Mrs. G. S. Fer rell, Mrs. Virginia Combes; a bro ther, Luther Ray of Maryland. His father died on October 3 of this year.
