Miss Linda Newton of Apex and Ms. Revah Floyd and little daughters of Lumborton were here Sunday to visit their sister, Mrs. F. E. Bunn. Willie Smith of Raleigh and Miss Bradley, also of Raleigh, were in Zebulon Sunday, calling on the editor’s family. Mr. Smith was formerly in the Kennedy home, when the editor was super intendent there and both enjoyed tecalling those days. HUNTER-LILES Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Liles of Zeb ulon announce the marrirtge of their daughter, Miss Virginia Dare Liles of Raleigh and Zebulon to Floyd Mitchell Hunter of Raleigh on February 10 in Bennettsville, S. C. Mr. Hunter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Hunter of Ra leigh. He was graduated from the Hugh Morson High School and at tended North Carolina State Col lege. He is now a clerk in the Raleigh postoffice. Mrs. Hunter was graduated from Wendell High School and in 1937 from the Rex Hospital Training School for Nurses. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter are resid ing at 216 North Bloodworth St. PATE-BRANNON Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Aldona Brannon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Brannon, to Coy Pate, of Wakefield. The Wallace Chamblees are having a home built on the lot ad joining the home place of the M. B. Chamblees. Mrs. W. T. Bryant of Middlesex is here to spend several days with her daughter, Mrs. Frank Kemp. O. H. Massey has had some at tractive sheets prepared,- showing stock and prices of chickens at the Zebulon Hatchery. Mrs. H. W. Jones and baby of Raleigh were here on Tuesday to spend the day with Mrs. Jones’ parents, the M. T. Debnams. Mrs. Jeff Crowder of Raleigh was here Tuesday to visit her mother, Mrs. C. E. Parker. Cheaves, who has been confined to her home by illness for some time, has not yet entirely recovered. Visitors in the P. L. Cashwell home last Sunday were Mrs. Cash well’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. ACCIDENT SUNDAY Melvin Willians struck a high spot on a bridge near Pilot last Sunday; a tire burst, he lost con trol of his car which turned over. Fortunately he was not much hurt; but the car, a Chevrolet coach, was badly damaged. Mrs. Rena Young has returned from Duke Hospital where she was taken for treatment some weeks ago. She seems in much better condition. Miss Dorothy Williams, who has just finished her course in Ra ! leigh, is now employed at the Zeb ulon Beauty Shop. C. V. Whitley returned on Sun day night from Hot Springs, Ark., where he spent two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nowell ! I and son, of Danville, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Biggs of Wendell; and Mrs. Julia Collins of Farm ville, were visitors in the C. M. Watson home last Sunday. Mes dames Biggs and Collins are Mrs. Watson's sisters, and Mr. Nowell is her brother. Friends here are interested in the announcement of the marriage on last Saturday in Apex of Miss Marie Finch to Mr. Snakenburg of Raleigh. Mrs. Snakenburg is the younger daughter of Mrs. S. M. Finch and spent most of her childhood in Zebulon. Glenda Faye Wells, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Wells, has re turned home from Duke hospital, where her eyes were treated. Massey attended a series of clinics at the Medical College of Virginia, at Richmond, Virginia, the first part of this week. This is centennial year for the college and it is giving in its several hospitals a series of post-graduate clinics for its stu dents and graduates. This was the second of the series that Dr. Massey has attended. Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Hood of Zebulon Route 1, announce the birth of a daughter, Audrey Louise, on Saturday, F’eb. 19. Mrs. Hood was the former Miss Bertha Audrey Adcock. Relatives and friends here are glad to hear that Eager Massey, of Middlesex, formerly of Zebu lon, is making good recovery from an attack of illness. OUT AGAIN C. L. I/ong, who was badly hurt in an automobile collision two weeks ago, is out again, though with a long, deep scar curving across his forehead. The accident occurred near the Will Upchurch home when the Long car was hit by one driven by Toby Price. Mr. Price’s mother in-law, Mrs. Buffaloe, Was also hurt in the wreck, but not serious ly. Mr. Long’s license plate was lost from his car and he is anx iosu to recover it.
