GOOD NEWS—The cost of living continued to declinfe last month ac cording to a survey made by the National Industrial Conference Board which showed that food stuffs purchased by the American housewife went down 2.3 per cent last year, rents one-half of one per cent, men’s clothing 1.1 per cent and women’s clothing seven tenths of one per cent. While these declines are not very great they indicate that the American dollar will go further this spring. Two other important family items, the cost of gas and electricity were unchanged last month while the price of coal was up one-tenth of one per cent.
