Faison With
Farm Bureau
Insurance Co.
M. Mcßae Faison is spending
this week in Columbus, Ohio, at
tending the annual meeting of the
Farm Bureau Insurance Company,
with whom he recently accepted a
position to represent them in Wake
and adjoining counties. He will
work out of the company’s State
office in Raleigh.
Mr. Faison has been a resident
of Zebulon for a number of years.
During this time he has fully iden
tified himself with every phase of
the community life. He is a mem
ber of the Baptist church, the Ro
tary Club and the Masonic frater
nity. In these he has shown an
active interest as well as in other
things of public concern. He is
not new in the insurance business,
having been engaged very success
fully in it in previous years.
The company with which he is
working is one of the largest and
best mutual insurance agencies in
the country. Many Zebulon and
other citizens in this section carry
insurance with the Farm Dureau'
Insurance Co. Their branch office
is in Raleigh. Mr. Faison, we are
glad to know, will continue mak
ing his home in Zebulon.
Scholarships
To Be Given
CMTC Trainees
H. H. Hutchinson of State Col
lege, chairman of the Military
Training Camps Association for
Wake County, announces that the
Commanding General, Fourth
Corps Area has allotted four (4)
scholarships to the Citizens Mili
tary Training Camp to be held at
Fort Bragg, N. C., June 16th-Ju
ly 15th. These scholarships have
been given through the efforts of
the Military Training Camps Asso
ciation by institutions of learning
for award to this summer s train
ees from this district and are as
follows:
I. Furman University, Green
ville, South Carolina. Two schol
arships, value $75.00 each. Period
1 year. For Freshmen only. Ad
dtional expenses approximately
$350.00.
2. Newberry College, Newberry,
South Carolina. Two scholarships,
value SIOO.OO each. Period—
throughout recipient’s college
course if merited.
These will be awarded to out
standing trainees who expect to
matriculate at the institution not
ed. In all cases, the scholarships
will be dependent upon the train
ees’ ability to meet entrance re
quirements.
The mission of the training
camps is to bring together under
healthful surroundings on a com
mon basis of equality, young men
from all walks of life, and by su
pervised athletics, military drill
and instruction in citizenship to
develop them mentally, morally,
and physically, promote wholesome
respect for American ideals, teach
the value of teamwork, fit them
for leadership, and impress upon
them the obligations and responsi
bilities of true American citizen
ship.
Young men attending these
camps are no more likely to be
called to the colors in time of war
than other men. However, in a
National emergency if they volun
teer or are selected for service,
they are likely to secure more
rapid advancement and to be able
to defend their country effectively.
A candidate must have reached
his seventeenth birthday by the
day camp opens and not have pass
ed his twenty-ninth birthday.
A physical examination, inocu
lation against typhoid, vaccination
against smallpox, and a certificate
of good moral character are re-
quired.
Prospective applicants may write
direct to the C. M. C. C. Officer at
Fort Bragg, N. C., for any infor
mation they desire or apply to the
County Chairman of the Military
Training Camps Association.

McKee have volunteered to give
Wake County candidates the re
quired physical examination free
of charge.
